Crossover the World this August in Nice

The Théâtre de Verdure in Nice will host a vibrant weekend of music this August, with the Saturday dedicated to Reggaeton and the Sunday celebrating the best of Afro-Caribbean sounds.

End the summer on a high with Crossover The World, a festival which brings together two open-air nights of Latin and Afro-Caribbean music to Nice’s Théâtre de Verdure on 22 and 23 August.

Featuring dedicated Reggaeton and Shatta evenings, the event promises an unforgettable weekend of music, dancing and summer atmosphere in the heart of the city.

Saturday, 22 August | Latin Addict Brings Reggaeton to Nice

The Latin Addict collective will take over Nice’s Théâtre de Verdure on Saturday, August 22, for a major open-air celebration of Reggaeton and Latin-Caribbean music.

Over the past 15 years, Latin Addict has grown into one of France’s leading Latin music events, bringing together international DJs, MCs, live musicians, performers and professional dancers for an immersive show that combines music, dance and high-energy entertainment. Rather than a traditional club night, each event is designed as a full-scale live production celebrating the vibrancy of Latin culture.

The evening will begin with a live salsa band before some of the collective’s resident Reggaeton DJs take to the stage, promising a night of Latin rhythms, dancing and a number of special surprises. Organisers expect it to be one of the Riviera’s standout Latin music events of the summer.

Latin Addict regularly performs at some of Europe’s best-known clubs and festivals, with appearances in Ibiza, Saint-Tropez, Barcelona, London, Lausanne, Rome, Milan and Monaco. Since 2012, the collective has shared the stage with many of the biggest names in Latin music, including Bad Bunny, Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Farruko, while also appearing alongside artists such as Chris Brown, Tyga, Myke Towers and Ryan Castro.

The collective is also a familiar name in Monaco, having provided entertainment during the Monaco Grand Prix on five occasions between 2017 and 2024. With its mix of live music, DJ sets and energetic performances, Latin Addict promises to bring the atmosphere of the Caribbean and Latin America to the heart of Nice for one unforgettable summer evening.

Sunday, 23 August | La Mescla – Celebrating Afro-Caribbean Music

La Mescla returns as the French Riviera’s largest Afro-Caribbean gathering, bringing an energetic mix of music, culture and community to the region.

For several years, the collective has transformed public squares, festivals, open spaces and urban venues across the Côte d’Azur into vibrant dancefloors, united by a shared passion for tropical music. Its events showcase an infectious blend of shatta, bouyon, dancehall and afrobeat, creating an atmosphere where music brings people together.

Known for its carefully curated line-ups and welcoming spirit, La Mescla combines established artists with emerging talent, encouraging audiences to discover new sounds while enjoying a lively summer celebration. Each event offers an opportunity to dance, meet new people and experience the warmth and diversity of Afro-Caribbean culture.

Afro-Caribbean music has grown rapidly in popularity across France in recent years, with artists including Kalash, Theodora and Maureen helping to introduce genres such as bouyon, shatta, dancehall and afrobeat to an ever-expanding audience.

Organised by the association La Mescla – meaning “the mix” in Occitan – the event is built around inclusivity and cultural exchange. Founder Mathieu Party describes it as “a welcoming place that embraces everyone, without prejudice.” Beyond the festival itself, the association organises a variety of cultural and musical events throughout the year in Nice, Toulon and across the wider French Riviera.
