COMO Hotels and Resorts has reopened one of the French Riviera’s most historic addresses with the launch of COMO Le Beauvallon, overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

Originally opened in 1914, the landmark Belle Époque property has been transformed into a luxury retreat that combines its architectural heritage with contemporary design, exceptional dining and COMO’s renowned focus on wellbeing.

An Historic Setting

Le Beauvallon was once a favourite destination for distinguished guests including Colette, Audrey Hepburn and Winston Churchill. More than a century later, its commanding position remains one of the finest on the Côte d’Azur.

Set within a private 10-acre estate of palm trees, pines and landscaped gardens, the hotel enjoys panoramic views across the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The grounds extend to Beauvallon Sur Mer, the hotel’s private beach club, complete with a beachfront restaurant, rooftop bar, lounge and bayfront swimming pool. A complimentary eight-minute speedboat transfer takes guests directly to Saint-Tropez, while a second boat provides access to the beaches of Pampelonne.

Elegant Accommodation

The hotel features 42 individually designed rooms and suites, each created to evoke the atmosphere of a private Riviera residence. Many display works from the hotel’s collection of more than 300 contemporary artworks, including sculptures, installations and rare decorative pieces.

All 28 suites, including the spacious COMO Suite, enjoy sweeping sea views across the bay, while the Hillview Rooms overlook the Provençal countryside.

Wellbeing also plays a central role in the guest experience. The intimate COMO Shambhala retreat offers holistic treatments in two therapy rooms, alongside a fully equipped fitness studio and daily yoga sessions.

Yannick Alléno Leads the Culinary Vision

Dining is at the heart of COMO Le Beauvallon’s revival, with the hotel’s food and beverage programme created by acclaimed French chef Yannick Alléno.

Across several venues, guests can enjoy cuisine that combines Mediterranean ingredients with international influences, reinforcing the property’s position as one of the Riviera’s most exciting gastronomic destinations for 2026.

At Beauvallon Sur Mer, Chef Alléno presents his first beach club restaurant, where Mediterranean flavours are paired with techniques and ingredients inspired by Southeast Asia. The menu is centred on generous sharing plates alongside dishes such as yellowtail tartare with peanuts and Thai basil ice cream, sea bass crudo marinated in baijiu with green papaya, and seared tuna with Kampot pepper sauce.

Contemporary Riviera Style

The beach club interiors have been designed by French designer Dorothée Delaye, whose elegant approach blends Belle Époque architecture with the relaxed glamour of the French Riviera during the 1950s. Wrought iron detailing, warm Riviera colours and yacht-inspired finishes create bright, welcoming spaces throughout the restaurant, lounge and pool areas.

Open to both hotel guests and visitors, Beauvallon Sur Mer evolves throughout the day from a lively lunch venue into an evening destination. Le Rotonde lounge provides the social heart of the beach club with DJ sets, while two sea-facing dining terraces and a rooftop bar overlook the bay.

A 25-metre mosaic swimming pool, reserved exclusively for hotel guests, sits alongside a private stretch of beach. Visitors can also browse the Shop by COMO boutique or admire one of the property’s most distinctive features – the 2002 Serpentine Gallery Summer Pavilion by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Toyo Ito, relocated to the gardens overlooking the Mediterranean.

Within the main hotel, the Winter Garden serves breakfast, lunch and dinner beneath its elegant glass roof, where Mediterranean cuisine with Niçoise influences is complemented by classic French dishes. Nearby, the Riviera Terrace, designed by Paola Navone of Milan’s Otto Studio, provides a relaxed setting for cocktails and light dining while enjoying uninterrupted views across the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.
