This autumn, Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild welcomes six distinguished guests for intimate evenings combining fascinating conversations, cultural discovery and exceptional dining experiences.

The magnificent Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat welcomes back Les Jeudis de la Villa, bringing together fascinating personalities, stimulating conversation and fine dining in one of the French Riviera’s most beautiful settings.

Running from 5 November to 10 December 2026, the Villa opens its doors for the fourth edition of Les Jeudis de la Villa, a series of intimate Thursday evening gatherings combining lively discussion with an exceptional dining experience.

There are few places on the French Riviera quite like the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. Overlooking the Mediterranean from its privileged position on Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, this remarkable Belle Époque residence has long been associated with art, culture and refinement.

The concept takes its inspiration from Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, whose passion for art and entertaining helped establish the Villa as one of the Riviera’s most celebrated cultural landmarks.

In keeping with the tradition of the great European salons, these evenings encourage guests to exchange ideas, explore new subjects and enjoy good company in an elegant yet welcoming atmosphere.

The season opens with renowned stage designer Rudy Sabounghi, who invites guests into the creative world of theatrical scenography.

Under the title Depuis l’atelier du scénographe (From the Stage Designer’s Workshop), the evening offers an opportunity to discover the artistic vision and craftsmanship involved in bringing theatrical productions to life.

His evening, De rencontres en légendes (From Encounters to Legends), promises a fascinating journey through memorable meetings and experiences from his distinguished broadcasting career.

Thursday, 19 November – Laurence Tardieu: Écrire pour se sauver

French novelist Laurence Tardieu explores the deeply personal relationship between literature, memory and human experience.

Her conversation, Écrire pour se sauver (Writing to Save Oneself), examines the power of the written word to help us understand difficult experiences, express emotions and find meaning in life’s challenges.

Thursday, 26 November – Tania Mouraud: Confidences

Contemporary French artist and member of the Académie des beaux-arts, Tania Mouraud takes centre stage for an evening entitled Confidences.

Known for her work across painting, photography, video and installation, Mouraud has developed a distinctive artistic language that challenges perceptions and encourages reflection. This intimate encounter offers an opportunity to discover more about the artist and the ideas that have shaped her career.

Thursday, 3 December – Jean-François Gonzalez: L’Intelligence Artificielle remplacera-t-elle le chirurgien ?

One of the most topical discussions of the season comes from Jean-François Gonzalez, who addresses the increasingly important relationship between artificial intelligence and modern medicine.

Under the provocative title L’Intelligence Artificielle remplacera-t-elle le chirurgien ? (Will Artificial Intelligence Replace the Surgeon?), the conversation explores how emerging technologies could transform surgical practice and the future role of medical professionals.

Thursday, 10 December – François-Henri Désérable: De pages en cépages

The autumn programme concludes with French writer François-Henri Désérable and an evening entitled De pages en cépages (From Pages to Grape Varieties).

Bringing together two great French passions, literature and wine, this final gathering promises an engaging exploration of storytelling, culture and the pleasures of the table.

Conversation is only part of the experience. Gastronomy also plays an important role in making Les Jeudis de la Villa a particularly enjoyable occasion.

Following the evening’s cultural encounter, guests gather at Restaurant Béatrice for a specially prepared dinner created by chef Myriam Barda.

The semi-gastronomic menu, accompanied by carefully selected wines, provides the perfect opportunity to continue discussions in a relaxed and convivial setting.

With attendance deliberately limited to a small group, these gatherings offer something increasingly rare: the chance to engage directly with accomplished personalities, exchange opinions and enjoy an evening where conversation takes precedence over the distractions of everyday life.

Completed in the early 20th century, the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild reflects the extraordinary artistic tastes of its creator, Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild.

Surrounded by nine magnificent themed gardens, the pink Italian-inspired residence houses an impressive collection of paintings, furniture, porcelain and decorative arts.

Today, the Villa remains an important part of the French Riviera’s cultural heritage, welcoming visitors from around the world.
