On Sunday, 10 May 2026, the World Hat Walk returns for its third edition – bigger, more international, and more visible than ever.
Nearly 90 cities across six continents will take part in this synchronised movement: from London to Lagos, from Barcelona to Buenos Aires, from Seoul to Sydney. A global choreography unfolds, staging fashion as a universal language – connecting, playful, and yet profoundly powerful.
The Hat Walk was founded in 2024 by Georgina Abbott and Becky Weaver in London, with a clear vision: to connect the international hat community and bring the traditional craft of millinery back into the spotlight. In close collaboration with London Hat Week, one of the most important platforms for contemporary millinery design, the initiative quickly evolved from a visionary idea into the world’s largest coordinated hat parade.

What defines the World Hat Walk is its openness. Professional milliners meet emerging designers, vintage enthusiasts meet collectors, students meet cosplayers – an intergenerational dialogue that celebrates fashion as a form of personal expression. Even four-legged companions join the spectacle, provided they are suitably and stylishly hatted! The hat becomes a stage for creativity, individuality, and pure joy of expression.
The World Hat Walk is more than a fashion event. Participation is free and open to all, yet its message runs deeper. At its heart lie encounter, exchange, and a shared commitment to many meaningful causes.

It all begins with a gesture – small, yet remarkably powerful: the conscious doffing of a hat. Once a sign of respect and etiquette, it is now reinterpreted as a symbol of empathy, visibility, and collective strength.
A moment that shows how much impact can lie within a single gesture.
While there is no World Hat Walk planned for the Côte d’Azur this year, the idea continues to resonate. The invitation is deliberately simple: wear a hat. Make a statement. Get your friends and family involved! Share your moment on Instagram with the hashtag #WorldHatWalk and be sure to tag @rivierabuzz06, and become part of a movement that has long transcended cities and borders.
Stay tuned for further details about the 2027 edition of this global initiative on the French Riviera. If you would like to get involved, do get in touch!
