La Foire Internationale de Nice is back, running from today until 16th March, from 10 am to 7 pm daily. To celebrate its 80th edition, the fair will be immersing itself in the colourful and festive world of the 1980s! A decade marked by freedom, creativity, and good humour, which continues to inspire lightheartedness and conviviality. Taking place at the Palais des Expositions in Nice. The 2026 edition of Monacollecte concludes today at the Chapiteau de Fontvieille. Residents are encouraged to bring along items they no longer need, such as clothing, books, toys, computer equipment, and small household appliances. A number of charities will be present to collect anything that can be given a second life, while remaining materials will be recycled or processed by SMA. Visitors can also take part in free activities and explore information stands focused on waste collection, sorting, recycling, reduction, and reuse.

The 27th edition of Le Festival de Musique de Chambre returns to Beausoleil featuring a concert each Saturday in March. Tonight we have Concertos for Harp and Orchestra with Floraleda Sacchi (harp) & the Passion Classique String Orchestra, conducted by Matthieu Peyrègne. They will be performing works by Debussy, Elgar, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Mozetich, Turina, and more. Panda-Events, in collaboration with Le 109 and the city of Nice, presents Lino who will take the stage in Nice to pay tribute to Calbo and perpetuate the legacy of the duo they formed. A key figure in French rap, Ärsenik made his mark with his hard-hitting style and powerful lyrics. Formed in 1992 in Villiers-le-Bel by brothers Lino and Calbo, the duo established their sharp pen with the release of their first cult album, “Quelques gouttes suffisent…” (1998), which was certified double gold. True pillars of Secteur Ä alongside Passi, Stomy Bugsy, and Doc Gynéco, they also participated in the Bisso Na Bisso project, a pioneer in blending rap with African sounds. Support act is Supacheez who will open the evening with a selection blending reggae/dub, bass music, and hip-hop & funk influences, driven by a sound system culture. Tickets available online.
SUNDAY, 8th MARCH
Today is Internatonal Women’s Day, celebrated globally and promoting a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can all forge gender equality. The theme this year is #GiveToGain. International Women’s Day (IWD) has been around for over a hundred years, as have many of the issues still impacting women’s advancement. Since 1911, IWD belongs to all who care about gender equality. Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness about discrimination. Take action to forge gender parity. All IWD activity is valid, that’s what makes IWD so inclusive. Happy Internatonal Women’s Day to you all!

The 2026 edition of Paris-Nice gets underway in Paris today, arrriving on the Côte d’Azur next weekend with Stage 7 of the race taking place from Nice to Auron on Saturday. The final stage on Sunday, 15th March sees the peloton take on a 129.2 km circuit into Nice.

The Hippodrome de la Côte d’Azur presents nine trot races from midday today, featuring the Grand Critérium de Vitesse. A legendary race, it has established itself as a benchmark event in the world of trotting. Run over the iconic mile distance, with an autostart, it has consecrated some of the greatest world champions of the discipline over the decades. Numerous free activities have been planned to make this event unforgettable for all the family with pony rides, sulky bikes, a crazy XXL obstacle course, a Connect Four basketball challenge, giant Legos, an inflatable structure, first aid training with the SDIS06 (Alpes-Maritimes Fire and Rescue Service), and musical performances. From 2 pm to 7 pm today, La Semeuse, the popular Niçois institution under director Frédéric Rey, honours International Women’s Day and responds in the only way a theatre knows how: by filling the stage of its La Providence venue in Vieux Nice entirely with women’s writing. Autrices à Nice celebrates women in the performing arts beyond stage roles – here, the accent lies on writers, poetesses, and playwrights. For the iconic Niçois cultural venue, la Journée de la Femme matters, but its commitment to promote female artists is not limited to a designated day in the calendar. The latest immersive experience, L’Odyssée Céleste, continues in the Basilica of Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption in Nice. This incredible show, designed and executed by Luminiscence, transforms sacred architecture into living narrative through light, sound, and technology. Jessica Astier brings her triumphal one-woman show Du Domaine des Murmures to Théâtre de la Cité in Nice, giving women from days gone by a voice to express themselves. For seventy-five unbroken minutes, she inhabits a 12th-century noblewoman named Esclarmonde, alone on stage, no ensemble, no safety net. Tickets cost €20 and may be reserved online.

The Sharron Mac Leod Trio celebrates International Women’s Day from 6 pm at Trinquette Jazz Club in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Sharron McLeod is a Canadian jazz singer who has performed and lived in Toronto, Vancouver, New York, and now Nice. This evening will feature a trio of voice, piano, and double bass with the excellent Nice-based pianist Jo Kaiat, known for his creativity and original compositions, and double bassist Pascal Masson, who plays in numerous groups in the region. The programme for the evening includes bluesy tunes and classic standards celebrating women. Tickets cost €18 (concessions available) and may be reserved online.

The 20th edition of Les Sérénissimes de l’Humour continues at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco with the great Dany Boon taking to the stage with his current show “Clown n’est pas un métier”. Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur presents Don Pasquale, the first of four perfomances taking place at 8 pm tonight. Do you prefer the original film or the remake? Film remakes are a tradition in cinema. Come (re)discover and compare the original works and their remakes at a screening at the Media Library. Invasion of the Body Snatchers, directed by Philip Kaufman, is a captivating and deeply unsettling science fiction film. Adapted from Jack Finney’s cult novel, already brought to the screen in 1956 by Don Siegel, this remake manages the feat of renewing the story while making it even more disturbing. In 1970s San Francisco, an invisible invasion gradually replaces humans with emotionless doubles. Driven by an oppressive atmosphere and constant tension, Invasion of the Body Snatchers is considered one of the best adaptations of the novel and a classic of science fiction cinema. Calling all budding writers! The Écrire Cannes writing competition is underway – closing date for entries is 27 April 2026. Organized by the Mairie de Cannes and local libraries, this competition invites participants to write a short story on a theme related to the city. This year’s theme is « Cannes durable : imaginons la ville de demain » (Sustainable Cannes: Let’s imagine the city of tomorrow). Further details on the Ville de Cannes website.

The Casa di Goethe is opening its art repository and presenting new works, including pieces added to the collection in recent years. Artists from Goethe’s circle, including Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein and Jakob Philipp Hackert, continue to form a focal point of the collection. They are represented in the exhibition with some excellent and particular drawings. Running until 12th April, 2026.
