The Festival de Musique in Mougins Turns Thirteen This July

The 13th edition of the Mougins Festival de Musique Notre-Dame-de-Vie will take place from 7 to 11 July 2026, under the artistic direction of Philippe Depetris.

Set against the idyllic backdrop of the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Vie in Mougins, this year’s programme will feature five exceptional evenings of music, bringing audiences together in one of the region’s most atmospheric venues.

Tuesday, 7th July, 2026

Sergey Khachatryan (violin) & Lusine Khachatryan (piano)
« Variations virtuoses »

Hailing from Armenia, this brother-and-sister duo brings a remarkable musical pedigree to the stage. Sergey, winner of First Prize at both the Jean Sibelius International Competition and the Queen Elisabeth Competition in 2000, is widely regarded as a musician of exceptional calibre. He is joined by his sister Lusine, an acclaimed pianist who has performed on many of the world’s most prestigious stages.

Together, their rare artistic chemistry, blending virtuosity with deep sensitivity, continues to captivate audiences around the globe. They will be performing selected works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ferruccio Busoni, Eduard Baghdasaryan, Komitas Vardapet and Maurice Ravel

Wednesday, 8th July, 2026

Nicolas Bringuier & Artur Pizarro
« Songes d’une nuit d’été »

An evening showcasing two exceptional virtuosos. Nicolas Bringuier, a pianist from Nice, rose to prominence with Second Prize at the R. Schumann International Competition in Zwickau (2004) and earned widespread acclaim for his vibrant performances at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw (2005). He is joined by Arturo Pizarro, First Prize winner of the Leeds International Piano Competition (1990) and an internationally renowned concert pianist. On the programme selected works by Felix Mendelssohn, Sergey Rachmaninov, Claude Debussy, Manuel De Falla, and Maurice Ravel.

One of the most brilliant cellists of her generation, the radiant Anastasia Kobekina – bronze medallist at the 16th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2019 – will take the stage alongside Swiss pianist and composer Beatrice Berrut, a returning artist who has previously performed at the festival. Together they will be performing selected works by Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms, before concluding with Sergey Rachmaninoff’s legendary Sonata for Cello and Piano in G minor, Op. 19.

Smoking Joséphine

Expect an evening of charm, spontaneity and humour with Smoking Joséphine. This ensemble of five virtuoso young women, accomplished soloists in their own right, reimagines the string quintet as a true playground, playfully breaking free from the conventions and ceremony of traditional classical concerts. The quintet brings together Geneviève Laurenceau, solo violinist, chamber musician and festival director; Olivia Hughes, solo violinist of the Paris Chamber Orchestra; Marie Chilemme, violist of the Ebène Quartet; Hermine Horiot, cellist; and Lorraine Campet, double bassist. They will be performing a selection of works by Edward Elgar, Manuel de Falla, Sergey Prokofiev, Franz Liszt, Camille Saint-Saens, Fritz Kreisler, Cristoforo Caresana and Leonard Bernstein.

Richard Galliano (with Adrien Moignard & Philippe Aerts)

Jazz makes its long-awaited debut at the Mougins Festival de Musique with an exceptional evening led by renowned accordionist Richard Galliano. Marking the reissue of his landmark album New Viaggio, originally released in 1993 by Dreyfus Jazz, Galliano revisits a work that signalled a turning point in his career, offering audiences a timeless journey rich in poetry and emotion. For this performance, he is joined by guitarist Adrien Moignard – whose instinctive musicality evokes the spirit of Django Reinhardt – and outstanding double bassist Philippe Aerts, whose depth and precision provide a solid foundation to the trio. In this pared-back formation, Galliano returns to the essentials: sound, melody and the musical roots that have shaped his distinctive artistic vision.

Tickets costing from €32 to €42 are available online. Tickets are also available from Scène55 in Mougins and on-site the evening of the concerts (subject to availability). All performances start at 9 pm and finish by 11 pm.
