The exhibition « Voyage au fil du timbre » offers a fascinating look at the evolution of transport and communication
Through an extraordinary collection of more than 180 postage stamps and a rare 1870 postal document, generously loaned by the Palais Princier, the exhibition traces the story of human movement across centuries. It takes visitors from the era of messengers travelling on foot or horseback to the cutting-edge technologies that continue to redefine speed, distance and global connection today.
Each philatelic piece serves as a miniature window into history, revealing how transport revolutions shaped trade, communication and the exchange of ideas across societies.

A dedicated section explores the evolution of leisure and racing automobiles, showcasing iconic vehicles that chart both the technical innovations and changing aesthetics of motoring culture. From the earliest models to modern high-performance machines, the display captures the enduring allure of speed, engineering and the independent spirit long associated with motor racing.
Blending culture, design and technological progress, Journey through the Stamp presents transport history through the unique lens of philately, inviting visitors to rediscover the human spirit of exploration and adventure.

The exhibition opens this Monday, 11th May and runs until September 27, 2026, at the Musée des Timbres et des Monnaies in Fontvieille.
Admission is €3.
The museum is open daily from 9:30 am to 5 pm, extending to 6 pm from July through September.
