The Antibes Raft Race 2018 is back on the 14th April with a Shipwrecked theme, so ask yourself, are you brave enough to sign up and build your own raft?

The Raft Race Association was created to emulate the Oxford /Cambridge Boat Race but without all the rules! And this memorable, chaotic, totally bonkers, fun race takes place at Port Vauban, with the last one taking place in 2012. Until now, that is! The organisers will be fundraising for several charities and promise a crazy course around the Port for the rafters, with a massive prize giving ceremony, followed by a fabulous fund-raising party, where there will be food and drink available, plus live music.

Become a Sponsor

This is a charity event and sponsors and volunteers are being sought. There are several sponsorship opportunities to suit all budgets, and the organisers are looking for volunteers and contributions to help with all aspects of the event which is expected to attract up to 2,000 people. If you can help out, do contact them today! Several sponsors and rafts have already signed up to support this charitable event, including; Heineken, The Blue Lady, Banana Bar, YPI Crew, Hill Robinson, Colgan’s Brewery, Inter-Nett, Noordzee, Port Vauban, Riviera Yacht Support, Standard Bank, Sunseeker, with many more signing up daily for Rafts or to take one of the many sponsorship opportunities including the sought-after and hilarious awards.

Who can participate and what’s involved?

Local businesses, crew and yachts are invited to build their own raft no larger than 12 sq.m. to sail around a course created at Port Vauban. No motors or electricity of any kind are allowed, fancy dress is encouraged, a drenching is to be expected, cheaters will be egged, and, above all, fun is mandatory!

How to enter

To be a part of the Raft Race teams, participants should email the organisers with their company / yacht name and contact details. The cost is €200 per raft which goes to charity. The cost of the raft is at the participants’ expense, so they can be as lavish or as economical as they like. There will be a maximum of 35 raft applications accepted. There are also several awards up for grabs such as Biggest Cheater, Best Fancy Dress, Most Creative Raft, and many more…!
