Chanterria McGilbra created the Prancing Ponies Foundation to support unrepresented, low income women
She does this by helping them attend seminars and conferences focussed on leadership so that they can advance their careers and develop their own leadership potential.
This is way more important than it may at first seem. The fact is that personal interaction during conferences helps develop a contact base in a social setting which in turn adds to an armoury of leadership skills that would otherwise be so difficult to experience at a distance. To have the ability to attend leadership conferences is a stepping stone to expanding the mind and developing potential.
Chanterria is the perfect ambassador for such a charity. She believes that women, given an even chance, can succeed and merit that success. In fact, she is her own success story. It is a story of determination, tenacity and achievement in biotech. As a treat to herself, Chanterria bought a Ferrari, and what a Ferrari! Apart from being a bespoke jewel from Ferrari in Modena, It represents more than just a car to Chanterria. It is a symbol of something to show to other women that they too can reach this level; a beacon of encouragement saying that “this could be yours”, which is her goal. Hence too, the name Prancing Ponies from the Ferrari logo.
She divides her time between her homes in Monaco and San Francisco. Having discovered the Riviera, Chanterria loves it. To her it feels like, as for so many of us, coming home. In California she creates car shows specifically targeted at women with women only participants, something she will be doing in Monaco. Car rallies have been and will continue to be part of the agenda. Always specifically for women. So, if you are a woman, like exotic cars, mingling with like minded dynamic people, supporting a very worthy cause and participating in fun things then the Prancing Ponies is definitely for you!
The foundation’s mission statement created by Chanterria is ‘Creating Women Leaders One Girl at a Time’ which says it all.
