Midem, the world’s leading international business and networking event for the music ecosystem, returns to Cannes this coming February.
Midem is the place where music makers, brands and talents, and cutting-edge technologies come together under one roof to sign new music, source innovative ideas, and sell digital solutions.
With 6,400 music professionals from 75 countries present last year, and brands like Amazon, Deezer, EMI Music, Samsung, and BMG in attendance, this is the premier global event of its kind for the music industry.
The programme for Midem 2014 will focus on the theme “Get back to Growth? Make it Sustainable!“, offering attendees essential knowledge and tools to successfully accompany their businesses into this new, flourishing age.
The music business is being continuously strengthened through ongoing innovation, with new relationships developing between artists, technology firms, brands, and rights owners.
The industry is at the tipping-point of a new era of growth, and the organisers have recognised this in the formulation of their programme for this event.
High profile speakers and guests for the 2014 edition include star talent agent Marc Geiger, who will give the keynote address as part of the Midem Talks conference programme, legendary composer Jean-Michel Jarre, singer Rita Ora, and Public Enemy co-founder and frontman, rapper Chuck D.
There is also an interactive side to Midem, with a slew of competitions, including Midem Hack Day and Midemlab, and the Midem Academy, which offers 46 courses across a wide range of cutting-edge topics over the four days.
As well as the conferences, talks, training sessions, and competitions, there is also the ever popular Midem Festival. Back for its third edition, the festival provides a great opportunity for participants to source new talent from around the world and meet business professionals during four days and nights of live concerts and performances, networking, happy hours, and so much more.
Midem 2014 is certainly attempting to fly the flag of optimism for the music industry, promoting the need to work together to ensure that recovery expands to every market, from emerging ones to more mature economies.
Midem takes place from Saturday 1st, to Tuesday, 4th February, 2014 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
