The top-flight European clay court season gets underway this April, with the return of the ATP tour to the Principality for the 2018 edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters event.
The attention of the world-wide tennis community turns to the beautiful surroundings of the Monte-Carlo Country Club this April, for the 2018 edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters ATP 1000 event.
The list of players so far confirmed for the tournament includes Rafael NADAL, back in search of title number 11! Alongside Rafa, look out for Marin CILIC, Grigor DIMITROV, Alexander ZVEREV, Dominic THIEM, David GOFFIN, Lucas POUILLE and local lads Novak DJOKOVIC and Tomas BERDYCH. A notable exception is Roger FEDERER, who it seems will be taking the clay court season off once again to concentrate his efforts on the grass, with a view to capturing another Wimbledon title. Andy MURRAY is also out with his hip injury.
The draw for the 2018 edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters tournament will take place at the Atrium in the Casino on Friday, 13th April at 6:30pm.
There will be a number of other attractions outside of the actual tournament itself during the week, including an exhibition match on Saturday, 14th April, featuring some of the top players, all in aid of the Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco. The following day will see the return of Children’s Day, while on Thursday, 20th April, the traditional Grande Nuit du Tennis player party takes place in the Salle des Étoiles in Sporting Monte-Carlo.
The 2018 edition of the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters ATP 1000 event runs from 14th to 22nd April at the Monte-Carlo Country Club. Tickets may be purchased online.
