MIDEM 2013 takes place from the 26th to 29th of January in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, the annual global get together for the music industry.

MIDEM was started back in 1967, providing the perfect platform for labels, publishers, and artists to meet, share ideas, and engage in dialogue. The event has continued to go from strength to strength, and this year will be no exception, with the introduction of two new content areas – Brand Central, where you can learn all about the music and brands ecosystem, and the Classical Discussion Lounge, where one can find interactive conversations between professionals from the worlds of both classical and jazz music. There will also be a special 12 hour training programme for French music industry professionals, under the Continuous Training in Marketing umbrella.

There are plenty of debates, talks, summits, insight sessions and the like to keep all attendees happy. Visionary Monday affords the pioneers of change in the industry to share their vision and tips for those looking to thrive and excel in the business. Think disruptive creativity! MIDEM Academy offers attendees courses dealing with entrepreneurship and marketing in the music industry. MIDEMLab offers a platform for the most innovative start-ups in the entertainment sector, allowing them showcase their latest digital innovations that benefit music executives, artists and brands, permitting them to engage with and monetise their audiences. The 14th annual NRJ Music Awards will also take place on Saturday 26th January, hosted by everyone’s favourite presenter, Nikos Aliagas.


Amongst the names that will be in attendance this January, look our for Madness, Archive and C2C, who will all be performing live during the event. There will also be numerous brands on hand who are involved with the music industry in one way or another, including Red Bull Media House, Samsung Electronics, YouTube, Amazon, and many, many more.
