Each year in early fall, the world’s elite yachting community turns its attention to Monaco, where the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show transforms the Principality into a glamorous showcase for the world’s finest superyachts, marine products, and luxury goods.
The Line Up
In 2017, the Monaco Yacht Show will run for four thrilling days between the 27th and 30th of September, with 125 unique superyachts docking in Port Hercule for the event. MYS is acclaimed for its global yacht launches, with 45 new yachts to be unveiled this year, as well as exciting projects by the world’s leading shipyards and designers. Keenly-awaited by all yacht brokers, the motor yacht reveals of 2017 are the 92m AQUARIUS from Feadship and the 85m ARETI by Lurssen, while sailing enthusiasts will be lining up to see the 53m PINK GIN VI from Baltic and the new 60m SEVEN from Perini Navi.
2017 will see some stunning developments at the show, including the redesign of Quai Antoine 1er to display the best of the superyacht lifestyle. All eyes will be on the Tenders & Toys Show for the top watertoys of 2017, while the Car Deck is home to luxury car manufacturers including Lamborghini, McLaren, Aston Martin and Bentley, all displaying their latest models and offering test drives. Quai Antoine 1er will also host the return of the Dutch Pavilion, showcasing the best of Dutch shipyards and maritime products and services, as well as the new Starboard Lounge, a waterfront restaurant, lounge, press, and exhibition space.
MYS will also feature over 580 exhibitors, including innovative yacht technology, global marinas, leading shipyards, and yachting suppliers, as well as an elite group of luxury lifestyle brands such as Ulysses Nardin, Acqua dell ‘Elba, and Champagnes Lanson.
The Events & Entertainment
The Monaco Yacht Show is almost as famous for its glittering social scene as its yachts and products, and the 2017 line-up doesn’t disappoint, with the Inaugural Gala and Monaco Yacht Show awards ceremony kicking off the proceedings on the 27th, and elite private parties held throughout the event on hotel terraces overlooking the show.
For those clients wishing to know more about buying or chartering a yacht, your MYS experience can start a day early, with the invitation-only Monaco Yacht Summit on the 26th of September, which will involve five detailed workshops about the superyacht industry’s brokerage process, hosted by industry leaders.
There are also several additional lounges for socialising and hosting meetings during show hours, with the Upper Deck Lounge featuring a champagne bar and gorgeous restaurant for VIP attendees, and the CC lounge creating the perfect networking and socialising space for participating captains and crews. If you’re looking for more options for entertainment, just outside the show’s gates lies Monte Carlo, with its wealth of Michelin star restaurants, A-list nightclubs, and opulent casinos and theatres.
The Monaco Yacht Show is one of the highlights of the yachting calendar, with a dazzling line-up of yachts, exhibits, and events. The show expects to receive around 30,000 visitors over the four days, but the MYS is organised and priced as an exclusive event squarely aimed at VIPs, ensuring a sophisticated yacht show experience for prospective buyers, charterers, and yacht brokers industry professionals. There is no better time to get in touch with your yacht broker to organise a visit of your potential future floating home.
