The upcoming unveiling of Villa Egerton in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin heralds a new departure for luxury rentals on the Côte d’Azur.
This original Belle Époque villa, bought in 2007 by an Irish businessman, has undergone six years of extensive refurbishment and renovation works, to restore it to its previous glory. The property is ideally situated, with great views over the Mediterranean and across to Monaco, and will be available to rent as of the 1st of May, 2013.
The villa now boasts one of the largest outdoor entertaining spaces in the region, complete with heated swimming pool, hot tub Jacuzzi, outdoor cooking and dining facilities, and a pool terrace bar. The existing mature trees were retained throughout the property, to protect the privacy of guests.
There are seven bedrooms in Villa Egerton, (five en-suite), two individual bathrooms, a dining hall, three lounges, two well-appointed kitchens, a sunroom and even an office if you need to catch up on some unfinished business. If you prefer to do your entertaining indoors, the villa has a spacious hall, its own wine cellar, cinema, and also, rather bizarrely, a secret bar, hidden behind some bookcases.
The villa rental comes with the services of two housekeepers, daily continental breakfasts, WiFi (both internally and externally), satellite television and a well-stocked media library. There is a fully monitored alarm system on site and the property is also protected by CCTV.
So, down to the nuts and bolts – if you are thinking of renting Villa Egerton, you will be looking at €90,000 per week (or €300,000 per month) between July and August (high season). The prices are somewhat more affordable during low season, November to April, when the weekly cost runs at €45,000, or €150,000 per month.
There is also a luxury package on offer to the guests, which will get you the services of three housekeepers, a butler, a chef, and a chauffeur. This will set you back €11,000 for a week, €18,000 for two weeks and €30,000 per month, with a minimum stay of one week required. The good news is that commission is included.
