Check out the International Art Project 2016 at Château des Terrasses in Cap d’Ail – definitely something to consider for this weekend’s calendar!
I have seen some really great work in an awesome space – it was the International Art Project 2016 put together by Wendy Lauwers and Art Libia Bosker at the Château des Terrasses in Cap d’Ail. Wendy and Libia have brought together 25 international artists for this show, which runs from 14 until 17 April.
The space allowed the many art works to be displayed in an uncluttered way, plenty of space to stand back and savour the work itself. The mixture of sculptures and paintings works well with each finding its own defined space. The amazing light from the the huge windows and the southern exposure of the salon adds another dimension, accenting the works beautifully.
The international artists include Julian Lennon who has two photographs on display, local artist Vagd with her excellent work in a wonderful blue, Libia Bosker herself with lovely paintings, and many, many more to recite. Among the sculptures are several stand alone works by Lu Ka, particularly striking.
The pricing is decidedly affordable, with most works being under €5,000. Given the quality, names and prestige of the event, the pricing is sensible and attractive.
I did not know the Château des Terrasses in Cap d’Ail existed, so it was a real treat to be able to wander up the curve of the road to find a beautiful mansion set in gardens with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean, and a waterfall facing the main entrance. An enchanting place so ideally suited to events such as vernissages, where things need to be just right and in an appropriate setting.
Wendy and Libia are to be congratulated on their fine organisation, curation and welcome! Excellent!
