The lineup for the 2016 Nice Jazz Festival has been announced, and continues the festival’s tradition of mixing it up, with a truly eclectic group of artists.

From the inaugural festival held way back in 1948 and featuring a certain Louis Armstrong and his All Stars, the Nice Jazz Festival has come a long way. And since leaving its home in Cimiez in 2011, and moving down into Place Masséna, it has grown in size and stature, and has been responsible for bringing jazz to the people.

The programme for the 2016 festival has just been announced, and as was to be expected, features a diverse line-up of both local and international talent. Our picks include the Avishai Cohen Quartet on Saturday, George Clinton on Sunday, and Massive Attack on the Tuesday. And while you’re at it, why not drop in to see the great Robert Plant too!

The 2016 Nice Jazz Festival runs from Saturday 16th to Wednesday, 20th July, taking place on two stages, one in Place Masséna and the other in the neighbouring Théâtre de Verdure.
