Enjoy a final weekend of sun, snow and parties as you bid the winter ski season farewell. Book a helicopter transfer to the Alps to discover the best closing parties in 2018.

Easter may be over but there’s still more than a sprinkling of powder on the slopes of the French Alps and this mild spring weather is ideal for celebratory après-ski festivities on sunny mountain terraces. Alpine resorts across Europe are hosting memorable closing parties to ensure the 2017/2018 ski season finishes on a high. We’ve handpicked the hottest festivals and parties in France, so grab your closest friends, pack your dancing shoes and book a helicopter transfer to the Alps to arrive in absolute style!

Val d’Isère

Why limit yourself to one night or one weekend when you can enjoy a three-week-long party in the resort of Val d’Isère throughout the entire month of April. Moris Pub is encouraging patrons to “drink the bar dry” at many fun, themed parties.

Val’s ultimate closing party, however, takes place over the last weekend of April at La Folie Douce. On Saturday, April 28th, the theme is ‘WTF,’ while Sunday, April 29th draws inspiration from the Winter Olympics with its ‘Folympix’ party. La Folie Douce’s VIP Zone has been renamed the ‘Veranda’ and sits under the shelter of an Eiffel-styled metal structure, with eight giant chandeliers and sumptuous decor. Access the Veranda via a separate entrance and enjoy cabaret and clubbing with underfloor heating, service from a dedicated team and views of Mont Blanc.

Tignes

Val’s sister resort Tignes is hosting a free music festival, Live in Tignes by Francofolies between April 17th – 19th. The three-day festival is free and will feature two outdoor stages and a range of international artists including Shaka Ponk, Hollie Cook and Les Wampas. Enjoy an electric atmosphere among snow-capped peaks while you can still see the dazzling white stuff!

Chamonix

For 18 summers, Aix-les-Bains has hosted the Musilac festival and, for the first time this year, Chamonix will host a spring version. In the shadow of Mont-Blanc, the Musilac Mont – Blanc festival will run from April 19th – Saturday 21st April. Headline acts include Texas, Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite, Rag’n’Bone Man and Beth Ditto. Don’t forget your skis, however. The Rock and Ride package includes entry to the festival as well as lift passes so you can make the most of Chamonix’s excellent off-piste reputation at the same time.

Val Thorens

The last weekend in April is primed to be a big one in Les Trois Vallées resort of Val Thorens. For the past three decades, the resort has been the destination for a snow-loving Dutch population to celebrate the end of the ski season and the week now has the nickname “Dutchweek”. This year’s edition runs from April 28th – May 5th and bands and DJ’s will have a permanent presence in the village’s main square.

As in Val d’Isère, La Folie Douce is again the brand to deliver the biggest closing party in Val Thorens. The 2018 event is offering a double dose of fun with two mega parties on 27th and 28th April. Called ‘Snola’, the 9th edition of Val Thoren’s lively closing party is based on the ‘Nola’ parties that take place in New Orleans. The Snola team will be decked out in New Orleans Mardi Gras colours – purple, gold and green. It is the liveliest way to commemorate a fantastic ski season in the Alps and get in the mood for an equally fun summer!
