Dita Von Teese has been called ‘the most famous stripper in America’ and has been delighting audiences the world over with her uber-glamourous performances for more than twenty years.

For the first time ever this October, it will be Monaco’s turn to see Heather Sweet, better known as Dita Von Teese, bring back into the spotlight the artful seduction of the Hollywood’s pinups from 1930’s and 1940’s when the raven-haired burlesque star brings her saucy new show “The Art of the Teese” to the Opera Garnier.

Hailed as a celebration of both the male and female body, with a variety of body shapes, ages and ethnicities, this deliciously decadent show will treat the audience to four of the diva’s most famous acts, including a brand new version of her iconic “Martini Glass” routine which features a baroque styled gilded champagne glass, crystallized from top to bottom with over 150,000 Swarovski crystals.

The programme will also include the “Swan Lake Striptease”, a tribute to the art of ballet, the famous “Rhinestone Cowgirl” act during which Von Teese is accompanied by the handsome male dancers she called her “Vonturage”, as well as the technicolor musical striptease scene “Lazy” which she debuted a few years back in the Moulin Rouge.

Bedecked in jewels and wearing both dazzling haute couture costumes by the likes of Jenny Packam and elaborate custom-designed stilettos created exclusively by Christian Louboutin, the Burlesque star is set to prove that she is the ultimate queen of vintage glamour. However, she will also let her fellow cast members shine on stage and use the accessories that made her so famous, such as her crystallised carousel horse, her giant sparkling red heart, or her golden claw-foot bath tub.

I am very excited that for the first time ever, I am coming to Europe with all the signature props and sets I am known for, along with an all-star cast of the best of burlesque from all over the world…I’m so thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to present this revue that I feel represents the multi-faceted glamour of neo-burlesque that is seeing a revival bigger than I could have ever imagined”
