Beware the roving gangs of photographers romping through Nice for the 10th edition of the Nice PhotoMarathon on Saturday, 6th June.
Now in its 10th year, the Nice PhotoMarathon organised by SeptOff is a photographic competiton that has proven to be hugely successful, and also hugely enjoyable for the participants.
The event takes place over a 12 hour period, from 9am to 9pm, with 12 different themes to be photographed. Participants are permitted to use either digital cameras or good old-fashioned film, and the competition is open to all comers, all ages, and all standards. There have even been foreign entries in previous years, just showing how well regarded the competition is.
The 12 themes are divulged to the entrants, three themes every four hours. The participants can only submit one photograph per theme, and in the order as set out by the organisers.
So, time to dust off that old Hasselblad and get those creative photographic juices flowing! Entry to the competition costs €20 and you must register in advance of the event. Entry forms may be downloaded from the PhotoMarathon website. Print them off, fill them in, and return to JJ Photo in Nice (contact details on the form). Entries close Thursday, 4th June.
