Christine Franceschini left the UK in the early seventies to work in Monaco. As with many before and after, she found her future in this piece of paradise.
Christine was destined for art school in the UK but commencing a new life in Monaco took her in a different direction. She travelled far and wide, always returning to Monaco. Family life took over and she raised her children. Finally Christine was able to concentrate fully on her art again.
Christine paints portraits. Her passion is for people and reflecting their characters which is very evident in her portraits. The art is in a classic style working in oil. Flowers and animals also figure in her work. Christine has had many commissions for her portraits. The first task is to make a drawing in monochrome then the task of creating the coloured painting begins in oil. Christine has a very long list of exhibitions in Monaco and the surrounding plus some notable international exposure.
Having broken her wrist, Christine has had to stop organising her very popular life drawing classes. However, she hopes to recommence later in the year, definitely 2023.The classes provide a wonderful opportunity to develop drawing skills in pencil or charcoal with a live model. Originally the classes were only open to members of the Monaco association, though now others can join in. Obviously there is a modest annual subscription and an attendance fee; rest assured places will fill quickly.
