Another top name from the world of entertainment, international pop sensation Alicia Keys, will be performing in Monaco this coming June.
The Summer in the principality will start with a blast as the talented Alicia Keys is bringing her ‘Set the World on Fire‘ tour to the Sporting Monte-Carlo on the 21st of June. The multiple Grammy award winner is indeed planning on spending a few months in Europe in support of her recently released fifth studio album, Girl on Fire, which was released last November.
Since her first singles, Fallin’ and A Woman’s Worth, back in the early 2000’s, Keys has earned international attention and success. To date, she has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide and won no less than 14 Grammys for hits such as No One and Empire State of Mind (with Jay-Z), making her one of the most popular artists of the last decade. She was even asked to sing the National Anthem at this year’s Super Bowl.
But the R&B singer does not just write beautiful catchy songs. She also possesses a vibrant contralto voice and plays the piano remarkably well. A classically trained pianist – she started taking lessons at age 7 and graduated as valedictorian from the Professional Performing Arts School – Alicia Keys has incorporated the instrument into her sound which ranges from soul and jazz to pop and rock’n roll.
On her latest album she offers a nice mixture of mid-tempo songs, powerful ballads and energetic beats. The Soul Princess is a more mature singer-songwriter now that she is married (to music producer Swizz Beatz) and a mom, and for her new tour, you should expect a pretty sophisticated show with a bit of dancing, some dazzling lights and lots of wardrobe changes.
