France Télévisions are looking for France’s most popular village, and we have the chance to help beautiful little Gourdon rise to the top.

This June, France 2 television will be broadcasting Le Village préféré des Français, a programme that allows the public to vote for their favourite village throughout metropolitan France.

Presented by the great and wonderful Stéphane Bern, the programme will focus on the 22 villages already chosen to represent each of the 22 regions in l’Hexagone. The village of Gourdon has been chosen to represent Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, and deservedly so.

Situated about 15km north-east of Grasse, Gourdon is a picturesque village perched on a rocky mountaintop, some 760m above the Vallée du Loup. The village dates back to medieval times and boasts an impressive fortress and also magnificent views over the Mediterranean, from Nice all the way across to Théoule-sur-Mer, and beyond.

Vote for Gourdon in Alpes-Maritimes!

And this is where you come in! Côte d’Azur Tourisme is asking everyone in the PACA region to vote for Gourdon, and make this village and region the talk of France this summer.

You have until the 22nd of May to vote for your village of choice — we do recommend, of course, that you vote for Gourdon! And do share this with your friends, on and offline. Come on people, mobilise and faites le buzz!
