Treat yourself to the taste of Corsica in Les Adrets-de-l’Estérel this summer, courtesy of Olivier Soavi and his new restaurant, A Casa Serena.

A Casa Serena ( meaning ‘a tranquil home’) opened its doors a month ago, and has been doing a roaring business ever since. Situated in the small village of Les Adrets-de-l’Estérel just on the limit of the Alpes Maritimes and Var and only 20 minutes from Cannes, it is one of the few Corsican restaurants in the region.

A brasserie, pizzeria and snack all in rolled into one with Corsican specialities, it is also a family restaurant and a great spot to enjoy an aperitif before lunch or dinner, or browse through the newspaper with a coffee first thing in the morning.

Owner Olivier Soavi (pictured below) offers a varied menu to serve all tastes, and the Corsican brochettas are particularly delicious – La Coppa, La Lonzo, La Prisute and La Figatelli. Or go for the mixed plate of charcutieries and Corsican cheese. There is also a large choice of pizzas, salads, meat dishes and a different plat du jour every day.

There are Corsican wines, red and white, and three types of Corsican beer on offer. All the ingredients are imported weekly from the village of Feliceto near Île Rousse.

How did Olivier end up in Les Adrets, so far away from his home in Feliceto where he ran a bar tabac? “I was searching for a restaurant and grabbed the opportunity when I heard this one had become available. Les Adrets is very like my own village”, he says

A Casa Serena has a large terrace which can seat 80 with 50 more placings inside. It is open 7 days a week in summer and 6 days a week in low season.
