209 Mare has launched its latest men’s collection of luxury beachwear for summer 2019, which is environmentally conscious and focuses on natural aesthetics.

Testament to the brand’s ethos of breaking the rules in style (#BTRIS), the latest collection takes inspiration from the age of social media and the influence it has on many of our lives. Founding brothers of 209 Mare – Federico and Gabriel Uribe – have found that social media has led us to lose sight of what is real, important and meaningful in life and hopes that the new collection will encourage its wearers to “embody minimalism for men who want to be ‘nauti’ from time to time” (Federico Uribe). No need for filters or forced captions, just let the clothes speak for themselves.

The 2019 men’s Collection – ‘Stay Real, Stay Nauti’ – is available in the brand’s customers’ most popular colours: white, blue, grey and black. These four key colours resonate with 209 Mare for their muted characteristic, allowing the design of the new collection to shine, [continuing to make it] the most instagrammable beachwear in the world” (Federico Uribe).

The Famous Beach Blazer (revived this year)

Made with a pique exterior and interior bamboo towel lining, which is 100% biodegradable .

The Towel Tuxedo (revived this year)

Made entirely with bamboo towelling, to give a cashmere-soft touch for its wearers. The bamboo toweling requires no pesticides and needs 80% less water to be produced, which means it is incredibly sustainable and antibacterial.

Leather jacket tailoring has been used to maintain form, whilst the addition of Oxford cuffs makes this piece an incredibly flattering fit for any body shape. The zip provides an additional design detail, from its colour match to the 209 Mare teal and personalised logo on the zipper.

Swim shorts in the form of marathon shorts

Tailored to reflect the current Ibiza trends worn by the modern Balearic man, this piece is shorter than previous designs and is embellished with piping. The Marathon Shorts make use of upcycled marine plastic materials that have been woven into an ultra light polyamide, which can dry in the sun within 12 minutes. The inner mesh is laced with elastane making them extremely light, soft and comfortable, wear after wear.

T-shirts

The O-T-9 crew neck and V-T-9 v-neck collared graphic t-shirts are printed with hand-applied velvet and provide the perfect match to be worn with the marathon swim shorts. Made from ultra soft and high-quality cotton with 5% elastane for long-term comfort, the 209 Mare t-shirts are based on the traditional polo shirt style, with a longer back panel for a flattering aesthetic.

Accessories

The Weekender Bag – perfect for weekend trips away, the Weekender travel bag allows you to carry all of your beachwear essentials and can be conveniently attached to any suitcase handle. All hoodies, blazers and tuxedos are now delivered in the 209 Mare weekender bag.

Camouflage Pouch – the smaller pouch comes in camouflage print and is designed to slot into the Weekender Bag, ideal for keeping passports, travel documents or your cell phone and keys whilst at beach clubs or on a yacht, thanks to its size and and addition of waterproof fabric, namely the rubber back panel. About The Founders

Federico Uribe graduated with a double Masters (MBA, MIR) from IE University in Madrid. After a short-lived career in golf, Federico went on to work in PR for several multinational companies, from Washington DC to Colombia.

Gabriel Uribe graduated at the top of his class from The George Washington University with a major in international relations and a minor in economics.

Both brothers come from a Colombian-German family that is now settled in Monaco.
