Dublin’s Sandyford Little Theatre Company travel to the French Riviera to present their current play ‘The Last Romance’ for one night only.
Our friends in the International Club of the Riviera are proud to present their annual theatrical production, this year in association with the Sandyford Little Theatre Company from Dublin. The play, ‘The Last Romance‘, will be performed on Saturday 5th October at 7.30 p.m. in the Jazz Comédie Club in Nice.
‘The Last Romance‘ written by Joe Di Pietro, is an ageless story about taking a chance on love. Featuring live opera music, this acclaimed production mixes heartbreak with humour and opera with laughter.
Ralph takes the same walk every day. One day he changes his routine and becomes smitten with a beautiful woman strolling with her dog in the city’s dog park. Suddenly the retired widower has a new spark and persistently woos the reluctant Carol.
As first annoyed by his overtures, Carol eventually grows very fond of Ralph. She learns that he was once an aspiring opera singer, even having auditioned for the New York Metropolitan Opera Company. However, there are obstacles for the couple to overcome, not least the disapproval of Ralph’s sister Rose. Is there a possibility for a second chance at romance for Ralph and Carol?
The cast includes Noel Gaskin who plays Ralph, Nuala Kirby featuring in the role of Rose, and Anne Doring as Carol. Young Ralph is played by Fearghal Curtis, and Joe McPartlin is Rose’s husband. The play is directed by Moira Walsh, with technical management provided by Gary O’Daly. Becky looks after the sound and lighting, and Dee Connick is the publicist and PR liaison.
Tickets are priced at €15 and are now on sale from selected outlets in Cannes, Antibes, Nice and Monaco. There will also be a post-production party in the venue, with plenty of singing, dancing and who knows what else! Please call 06.21.20.60.10 or 04.93.72.11.89 for any further information or to reserve your places for this not-to-be-missed event.
