Art Tentation, the Art & Antiquities Salon, is underway in Villefranche-sur-Mer, bringing together artists from all over France and beyond.
The 2015 Salon Art contemporain & Antiquité taking place at the Citadelle in Villefranche features many art styles, as varied as the artists themselves, a superbly eclectic mix ensuring a universal appeal. What a location too – this old fort with its meandering internal pathways that twist and turn throughout this historical place. A great place to discover on its own.
Our intrepid reporter, Mike, has a stand in the show, number 38 – Atelier Mike. Among other local names there is J-C Chartier of Art Gallery Show in Monaco. Enric Roca is here all the way from Barcelona with his own take on Barcelona. There are others like Peter Larsen, Pari Ravan … oh heck, the list goes on and on.
The best idea is to come along and see, enjoy the atmospheric location and then toddle down to the champagne bar after which you can explore the beautiful village of Villefranche two steps away!
It isn’t just contemporary art, there is more. The antiques are exquisite. Excellent examples from many periods in excellent condition stylishly presented. Carpets, exotic artifacts and even vintage clothing is also on show. It isn’t just one endless line of stands either, the stands are well positioned, nicely spread out, feeling very individual like little charming petite villages.
The show runs until Sunday, 6th September, 10am to 8pm daily. Go and say a big Hi at stand 38, you will be assured of a good welcome!
