The Ville de Nice, the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Industry, the Cinémathèque de Nice and the Victorine Studios invite you to an exceptional weekend to discover a century of French cinematic heritage.
As part of the 2025 Journées Éuropéennes du Patrimoine (European Heritage Days), the legendary Victorine Studios in Nice are offering something very special to the public on 20th and 21st September – a unique immersion in the history of French cinema.

PROGRAMME FOR THE WEEKEND

SEMI-GUIDED HERITAGE TOURS
Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September; 9am – 6pm
Step into the rich history of the Victorine Studios with an exclusive tour that traces more than a century of cinematic creation. Here, you will explore historic sets and legendary filming locations, delve into archives and rare photographs, and experience a captivating presentation of filmmaking techniques spanning from the early days of cinema to the innovations of today.
Duration: Approximately 1.5 hours – Free admission


THE MAKING OF A FILM
Saturday, 20th September – 5 x one-hour sessions running from 9:15 a.m. to 5:45 pm. Please note that you must register for this event

An engaging educational showcase, led by industry professionals and aspiring filmmakers, invites audiences to step behind the camera. Filming and production techniques are highlighted, along with the art of editing and postproduction, and the evolution of filmmaking professions. Participants are also immersed in a real-life scenario, with opportunities for hands-on audience involvement.
Duration: Approximately 1 hour.

EXCEPTIONAL SCREENING: “LES ENFANTS DU PARADIS”
Sunday, 21st September – 7pm
The weekend draws to a close with a touch of cinematic magic: a special screening of Marcel Carné’s 1945 masterpiece Les Enfants du Paradis, presented by the Cinémathèque de Nice. Shot at the Victorine Studios between August 1943 and June 1944, the film features production designer Alexandre Trauner’s remarkable reconstruction of Paris’s legendary “Boulevard du Crime.”
