Our friends in Masséna Around the World in Nice welcome Hollie McNish to the bookshop this evening between 6pm and 7pm for a booksigning and reading. Hollie is a poet and author based between Cambridge and Glasgow. She was the first poet to record at Abbey Road Studios, London and won the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry for her poetic parenting memoir – Nobody Told Me – of which The Scotsman stated ‘The World Needs this Book’. She has published five further collections of poetry – Papers, Cherry Pie, Plum, and Slug and Lobster, both Sunday Times bestsellers, with translations in French (Je souhaite seulement que tu fasses quelquechose de toi) and Spanish (Cosas Que Mis Abuelas). Ciné Quartier returns to Cannes tonight with a screening of I Swear (Plus Fort Que Moi) at 10 pm at the Médiathèque Noailles. The 2026 Monte-Carlo Summer Festival continues tonight with Jon Batiste playing at the Monte-Carlo Sporting. This American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, bandleader, television personality and actor is widely recognised for his virtuoso piano playing, genre-blending style that fuses jazz, funk and soul, and his vibrant, high-energy performances. The 13th edition of the Mougins Festival de Musique Notre-Dame-de-Vie gets underway tonight, running until next Saturday, 11 July 2026, under the artistic direction of Philippe Depetris. The Aurore Voilqué Quartet play La Trinquette Jazz Club in Villefranche-sur-Mer tonight at 9 pm. This event is being held in partnership with the Peillon Jazz Festival. Aurore Voilqué brings together several of the finest instrumentalists from the Balkans and beyond for a vibrant musical journey, from the banks of the Seine to the shores of the Bosphorus. The music of Django Reinhardt will meet the captivating melodies and songs of Eastern Europe, as well as their own compositions. Tickets cost €18 (concessions available) and may be reserved online.

The Festival du Fort Antoine continues tonight with two-time Juno Award winner Dominique Fils-Aimé, one of the leading voices in contemporary jazz. Drawing inspiration from African American musical traditions, the Montreal-based singer-songwriter creates deeply soulful and immersive performances. The 2026 season of Monaco Open-Air Cinema continues with a screening of The Devil Wears Prada 2 (Le Diable s’habille en Prada 2), directed by David Frankel and starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. Monaco Pride takes place this evening from 6 pm at Stars of Monaco. It will bring together members of the LGBTQ+ community, allies, residents and supporters for an evening dedicated to visibility, inclusion and equality in the Principality. The event represents an important opportunity for a community that has historically had limited visibility in Monaco to come together, celebrate diversity and continue advocating for equal treatment and recognition.

The summer season of Les rendez-vous cinéma du Maybourne Riviera x Food Fiction continues tonight. Movie nights take on a whole new dimension here on the suspended terrace of the hotel with breathtaking views of Monaco and the Mediterranean. Tonight’s screening is Le Comte de Monte-Cristo, starring Pierre Niney, Bastien Bouillon, Anaïs Demoustier, amongst others. Adventure, revenge and destiny in a spectacular epic. Fondation Maeght hosts the first of its summer concerts this evening from 7:30 pm. On the occasion of the retrospective exhibition dedicated to Ellsworth Kelly, the Orchestre national de Cannes presents a concert that creates a dialogue between music and visual perception. Doors open at 7:30 pm, with a free visit of the temporary exhibition and collections of the Fondation Maeght. The concert takes place at 9 pm in the Giacometti Courtyard and finishes at 10 pm. The David Sauzay Organ Trio play La Trinquette Jazz Club in Villefranche-sur-Mer tonight at 9 pm. First up is the David Sauzay Organ Trio, featuring three leading figures of the French jazz scene: Laurent Marode on Hammond organ, David Sauzay on saxophone, and Jacopo Forno on drums. Together, they pay homage to the tradition of American organ trios, with irresistible swing and a warm sound. The second part of the evening is dedicated to the students of the jazz workshop organized by David Sauzay and Laurent Marode. The 65th edition of the renowned Jazz à Juan festival gets underway this evening in the Pinède Gould in Juan-les-Pins and runs until Sunday, 19th July. The festival opens with José James feat. China Moses at 8:30 pm, who will be performing Marvin Gaye’s album “I Want You”, in its entirety. They will be followed by the legendary Tom Jones at 10 pm. The terraces of Place du Château in Haut-de-Cagnes (Cagnes-sur-Mer) will once again be swinging to the sound of jazz this summer. Taking place every Friday night until September 11, 2026, these concerts will offer you the chance to discover virtuosos and a variety of groups, all free of charge. Tonight we have the Quartet Accordion Project. Four musicians from diverse backgrounds come together around a multifaceted instrument: the accordion. Accordion Project takes us on a journey down unexpected paths, exploring a world whose musical eclecticism unfolds with surprising modernity. The Nocturnes Cannoises 2026 are back, running from 7 pm to midnight. During the months of July and August, the Cannes night markets offer a picturesque and attractive craft market where local produce and decorative objects blend well with the mildness of summer evenings. The markets take place on Tuesday evenings at Esplanade Pantiero, Wednesday evenings at Place du marché de Cannes La Bocca, and Thursday evenings at Boulevard Jean Hibert. Jazz Sous La Lune Festival takes place on 29 August, 2026. Enjoy an unforgettable summer evening beneath the stars at the enchanting Abbaye de La Colle-sur-Loup. Created by Maiart, this elegant open-air event combines live jazz, Riviera charm and a spectacular historic setting for a memorable night of music and fine dining. Each ticket includes a complimentary glass of champagne, a truffle and foie gras tasting, and access to a curated cheese bar by LeChat Noble, specially selected to complement the evening’s performances. On the programme – a live jazz concert featuring Luana Toader and her band with special guest artists, and a spectacular Michael Jackson Tribute Show, followed by a DJ set to round off the night. Les Contes d’apéro return this July for its 7th edition, taking place outdoors at the Kiosque du TNN on the Promenade du Paillon in Nice. Running daily from 6 to 26 July at 7 pm each evening. Free admission, subject to availability of places. As part of the Ville de Nice Mon Été à Nice and with the support of Fonds de dotation PTNN.

Les Nuits d'Été get underway at the Hippodrome de la Côte d’Azur this week, running until 22 August. With a summer of trot racing on the cards, there is also plenty to do with restaurants on site and themed evening throughout the summer, firework displays, night markets and more!

A photographic exhibition taking place in Ventimiglia, Sotto Sopra, features the works of Saverio Chiappalone and Luca Coltri. Immerse yourself in a unique environment where you can discover the beauty of the Ventimiglia coast and the underwater wonders of its seabed. Open 7 pm to 10pm, Friday to Sunday.
