The Théâtre National de Nice Festival de Tragédies continues tonight with Une Séparation by Véronique Olmi, read by Muriel Mayette-Holtz and Laurent Prévot. This reading takes place at the Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur at 7 pm. Une Séparation is a text written for the stage, exploring with rare delicacy the intimacy of a couple who miss each other as much as they can no longer bear each other, who no longer know how to reinvent themselves and yet remain bound by an unbreakable thread. Joseph Massoma & Sweet Sabasaba play the Trinquette Jazz Club in Villefranche-sur-Mer at 9 pm tonight. Born in the musical melting pot of Douala, the cradle of legendary bassists like Richard Bona and Etienne Mbappé, Joseph Massoma is part of this great Cameroonian tradition while forging a deeply personal path. Based in Dakar for several years, this bassist, singer, and composer draws on a multitude of influences to enrich his music: Sawa rhythms, jazz, Afrobeat, Senegalese Mbalax, and Brazilian sounds blend together in compositions of rare richness. With Sweet Sabasaba, he brings together several leading figures of the French Riviera music scene: Eric Sempé on guitar, Manu Carré on saxophone, Philippe Cocogne on keyboards, and Cédric Le Donne and Bruno Desbiolles on drums and percussion. On stage, Joseph Massoma’s music becomes a true journey, as much spiritual as sonic, carried by a generous and profoundly human energy. The 2026 season of Monaco Open-Air Cinema continues, once again transforming the Esplanade des Pêcheurs beneath Le Rocher into one of the most spectacular movie venues in Europe. Tonight’s screening is The Devil Wears Prada 2 (Le Diable s’habille en Prada 2), directed by David Frankel and starring Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci. Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel plunge back into the ruthless and glamorous world of Runway magazine and the streets of New York where elegance is a formidable weapon. Screening starts at 9:30 pm. TUESDAY, 23rd JUNE

The Pavillon Bosio, Monaco’s Higher School of Visual Arts, is offering new workshops for amateur artists, students, and adults Today, they are running a guided drawing walk, with on-site sketching with Laure Fissore. The drawing workshop will take place outdoors in Monaco, with a backup plan at the Foyer Sainte Dévote in case of extreme weather conditions. This is a day-long course, runnng from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. Book your place online.

NEO Art & Culture Lab x VogelART in Nice presents a new exhibition, Mimmo Rotella & Friends, which offers a vibrant tribute to the Italian master. Curated by internationally acclaimed artist Gregor Hildebrandt, represented by the prestigious Almine Rech and Perrotin galleries and a long-time admirer of Rotella’s work, the exhibition explores the enduring relevance of his artistic vision. The Vernissage takes place from 6 pm to 10 pm tonight and the exhibition runs from today until 12 July, 2026. The gallery is open from Wednesday to Sunday – 2 pm to 7 pm, closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Free admission.

The Festivités de la Saint-Jean return to the Principality today and tomorrow. This ancient tradition, celebrating fire and light, will culminate in the lighting of the traditional “batafoegu” (a bonfire) in the Place du Palais at 7:30 pm this evening. This will be accompanied by musical entertainment and folk dances performed by the dancers of La Palladienne. Free admission and open to all.
The Festival de musique sacrée organised by the Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur continues at 8 pm tonight with a concert in Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate in Vieux Nice. With the Chœur Philharmonique de Nice, under the musical direction of Giulio Magnanini, the concert features soprano Corinne Parenti, sezzo-soprano Claudia Cesarano, tenor Franck Bard, baritone Joan Hotensche, accompanied by Roberto Galfione on piano. They will be performing Antonín Dvořák’s Stabat Mater op. 58. Tickets cost from €10 to €20 and may be reserved online.

The Théâtre National de Nice Festival de Tragédies continues tonight at the Arènes de Cimiez at 9 pm with Les Suppliantes by Aeschylus, adapted and directed by Charles Tordjman. It features Céline Camara, Geoffroy Guerrier, Julie Pilod, and Assane Timbo. Written in 465 BCE, Les Suppliantes recount the escape of the fifty daughters of Danaus who all are forced to commit incest and marry their cousins. Fleeing to Argos, King Pelasgus faces a dilemma: welcome the asylum seekers in the name of sacred law and risk the provocation of war, or hand them over. Tickets may be reserved online.

WEDNESDAY, 24th JUNE

The La Semaine PhiloMonaco returns to the Principality today, running until Sunday next, 28 June 2026. This year’s theme is « Le Désir » (Desire). The event is organised by Les Rencontres Philosophiques de Monaco and will feature many figures of renown who will engage with the public and participate in conversations, presentations, dialogues, and roundtable discussions, all relating to desire. The events are open to all and will be held in many iconic Monaco venues, such as the Théâtre Princesse Grace, the Yacht-Club de Monaco, the Café de Paris, the Promenade Honoré II and the Hôtel Hermitage. Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur presents an afterwoork event – Afterwork Artistes du Chœur – from 7 pm to 8 pm this evening at the Centre Universitaire Méditerranéen in Nice. Enjoy an hour of music and song, and then raise a complimentary glass with the artists afterwards. With Frédéric Deloche, Director of the Chœur de l’Opéra de Nice, along with the Chœur de l’Opéra de Nice. Tickets cost from €10 to €20 and may be reserved online.

The Académie Rainier III invites you to its traditional Music Gala, an evening dedicated to the world of jazz aesthetics with orchestration for a full symphony orchestra. The concert takes place at 7 pm in the Salle Prince Pierre in the Grimaldi Forum. In the first half, four outstanding solo students will perform alongside the prestigious Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, taking the audience on a journey through a century of music. The second half of the evening will offer a true dialogue between cultures: from the rhythmic pulse of the metal taps fixed to tap dance shoes to the grace of operatic singing accompanied by instrumental music. Ensembles and orchestras will come together on stage for a finale that is as eclectic as it is moving. This is a free event but reservation is required. The Festivités de la Saint-Jean continue in the Principality today, this time at Place des Moulins. There is a traditional parade that starts at 7:20 pm. This is followed by a religious celebration at Église Saint-Charles at 7:30 pm, and a blessing and the burning of the “batafoegu” at 8:15 pm. Once again, there will be, musical entertainment by U Cantin d’A Roca and traditional dances by La Palladienne and the Association folklorique des Portugais de Monaco. Free admission and open to all.

The Fête de La Saint Jean-Baptiste concludes in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat this evening. Proceedings get underway at 8:45 pm with the procession from Avenue des Fleurs, descending by lantern light to the old lighthouse. The boat “La Sirène” will welcome families for a wreath-laying ceremony at sea, at the harbour entrance. Children and families are warmly invited to participate in this traditional procession. This will be followed by the Saint-Jean bonfires at 10 pm at the Parvis de l’église Saint Jean-Baptiste. The festival comes to an end at 10:30 pm with a fireworks display, with unobstructed views from the restaurants in the port, the village, or Cros deï Pin beach. A spectacular show guaranteed!

The Théâtre National de Nice Festival de Tragédies continues tonight at the Arènes de Cimiez at 9 pm with the second perfromance of Les Suppliantes by Aeschylus, adapted and directed by Charles Tordjman. It features Céline Camara, Geoffroy Guerrier, Julie Pilod, and Assane Timbo. Tickets may be reserved online. The performance will be preceded by Le Chemin des Danaïdes (The Danaid’s Path) by Adela Coman and Diana Iliescu at 7 pm. After participating in workshops to understand symbolic movements, shared rhythm and form a procession, guides will take the audience for a collective walk towards a sacred passage, from the Museum of Archaeology to the amphitheatre of the Arènes de Cimiez. This event is sold out but you may join the waiting list.

Our friends in Masséna Around the World in Nice welcome back Dr Helen Murray Taylor to the bookshop between 5pm and 7pm on Thursday, 25th June for conversation, readings and a celebration of the paperback release of her memoir love lay down beside me and we wept, a raw, profoundly moving and masterful account of life-shattering mental illness. Helen’s book has helped people all over the world and is testimony to the healing power of writing. And for any authors among you, Helen has another story with a happy ending, which involves her first publisher going bankrupt… and a happy new beginning with another one.

The 10th edition of UPAINT concludes today in Monaco with the live auction of the artworks created by the 17 participating international artists. The auction is curated by Hôtel des Ventes Monte-Carlo. If you wish to register for the auction or view the catalogue, you may do so online. In Monaco, the net proceeds of the auction going to the Fondation Prince Albert II. Since 2024, the net proceeds have been split between the FPA2 and the S.P.A of Monaco, to help build a new shelter for homeless pets.

Syna Awel plays the Trinquette Jazz Club in Villefranche-sur-Mer at 9 pm tonight. Syna Awel and bluesman Lucky Luc create a free space where African roots, soulful blues, and nomadic rhythms converse. Around them, Tony Sgro on the darbuka and Mahir Bostandzija on percussion weave an organic tapestry of bendir, congas, djembe, and vibrant drumheads. Between desert blues, groove, poetry, and freedom, the quartet explores the paths of trance and pure emotion, stripping music down to its essence: a voice, a guitar, percussion… a truth. Hôtel Cap Estel welcomes back Les Nuits Dime On, its signature summer music festival, for a new season of truly unforgettable nights on the Riviera. The 9th edition of the festival gets underway tonight with RAVAGE, a duo with a sound that is both tender and fiery. Aurélie Saada and Gaspard Royant present an encounter that is both intimate and deeply felt. The Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo presents the Sirba Octet as part of its Grande Saison Musique Traditionnelles. For over twenty years, the Sirba Octet has been captivating audiences with its warm, joyful, and deeply moving music. This group of eight classically trained musicians breathes new life into the music of Eastern Europe: klezmer, Yiddish, Gypsy… Popular tunes that tell stories of exile, celebrations, memory, and hope. The performance takes place in the Salle Garnier of Opéra de Monte-Carlo at 8 pm. Tickets cost from €25 to €60 and may be reserved online.

The Festival de musique sacrée organised by the Opéra Nice Côte d’Azur continues at 8 pm tonight with another concert in Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate in Vieux Nice. With the Chœur Philharmonique de Nice and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, under the musical direction of Vincent Monteil, the concert is in two parts. First up, we have Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, with soprano Tyna Volpi and baritone Thibaut Desplantes. This is followd by La nuit obscure by Pierre Ruscher, featuing mezzo-soprano Aviva Manenti. The terraces of Place du Château in Haut-de-Cagnes (Cagnes-sur-Mer) will once again be swinging to the sound of jazz this summer. Starting tonight and taking place every Friday night until September 11, 2026, these concerts will offer you the chance to discover virtuosos and a variety of groups, all free of charge. Tonight we have an evening with the Big Band and other jazz groups from the Conservatoire de Cagnes-sur-Mer. These talented young musicians and adults present a rich and varied repertoire that they have been working on throughout the year. Direction by the great Linus Olsson. The Trinquette Jazz Club in Villefranche-sur-Mer hosts Guitar Night Vol. 8 with Kim Nguyen-Duc at 9 pm tonight. Kim Nguyen-Duc has been a professional guitarist since 2010. Well known on the national and international artist touring circuits, he is regularly asked to accompany artists passing through the French Riviera. He will be accompanied by Laurent Sarrien on drums and Clément Douziech on bass. A unique evening where this intergenerational group, formed for the occasion, will take us on a journey through the influences of its various musicians! The Théâtre National de Nice Festival de Tragédies presents Bérénice by Jean Racine tonight at 9 pm at the Arènes de Cimiez, the first of two performances. Directed by Robin Renucci, it features Tariq Bettahar, Thomas Fitterer, Solenn Goix, Julien Leonelli, Sylvain Méallet, Amélie Oranger, and Henri Payet. The play tells the tale of ill-fated love when the newly crowned King Titus is forbidden to marry the foreign Queen Bérénice. Tickets may be reserved online.

La Note Bleue welcomes More Than Soul tonight as part of the Summer Festival programme. The band pays tribute to the legacy of Acid Jazz with a sound that’s both faithful and alive, blending Jazz, Soul, Funk, and Blues into a rich, groove-driven experience. It’s music built on feel – tight, expressive, and rooted in a tradition that never really went away. At the centre stands Virginie Behem, whose powerful, soulful voice carries the band with confidence and depth. The programme for the 65th edition of the renowned Jazz à Juan festival has officially been unveiled, and it promises to be one of the standout music events of the summer. Running from 9th – 19th July, the festival returns to its iconic setting in the Pinède Gould in Juan-les-Pins. Tickets are now on sale.
