SUPMODE Design & Fashion Business, a private higher education institution dedicated to fashion and the creative industries, will hold its first fashion show in Nice this May.
As part of the Campus des 11 Arts – alongside Sup-Photo – the school is established in both Nice and Bordeaux, two cities deeply connected to culture, art, and innovation.
Designed as a space for both creative freedom and professional development, SUPMODE encourages each student to cultivate their individual voice, refine their talent, and build a distinct identity within the industry.
They will be holding their first fashion show in Nice on Friday, 22nd May, from 6 pm on the rooftop of OCÉANICE in the Port de Nice.

FASHION SHOW THEME
« L’ART DE SE VÊTIR » (THE ART OF DRESSING)
More than the simple act of wearing clothes, “The Art of Dressing” explores fashion as an aesthetic, cultural, and deeply personal language.
The theme celebrates clothing as a form of artistic expression. Like painters or sculptors, designers compose with fabric, colour, texture, and volume to create living works of art. Every silhouette becomes a moving canvas, animated by the body that wears it.
At the same time, “The Art of Dressing” reflects the enduring relationship between style and identity. Fashion carries cultural memory and historical significance; garments reveal traces of an era, a place, and a social narrative, while constantly evolving through contemporary reinterpretation.
The theme also embraces fashion as a personal statement. To dress is to reveal oneself – an emotion, an attitude, a perspective. Each look presented on the runway becomes a visual story, expressing individuality through design.

Ultimately, “The Art of Dressing” invites us to see fashion beyond clothing alone: as an art form, a language, and a reflection of human identity.
THE SILHOUETTES
KIMONO
For this project, each student selected either a U.S. state or a country from North, Central, or South America, alongside a cultural reference connected to that territory.
Working in pairs, students merged their individual inspirations to create original kimono concepts and silhouettes, blending distinct cultural universes into a singular creative vision.
The project reinterprets the traditional codes of the kimono, obi, and kinchaku through a contemporary lens, balancing heritage with innovation while exploring new forms of expression.
SKIRT AND TOP – “INDUSTRIAL LINES”
Inspired by the Industrial Revolution, “Industrial Lines” explores the dialogue between construction and deconstruction, craftsmanship and mechanisation.

Students revisited this transformative historical period through a modern perspective, examining the architectural qualities of lines, structure, and utility. Drawing from the visual language of industrial workwear, the project reimagines its emblematic codes within contemporary skirt and top silhouettes.
The result is a study in precision and experimentation, where tailoring, structure, and movement intersect to redefine industrial aesthetics for a modern fashion narrative.
