The ICR Invites You to the Star Spangled Banner

The International Club of the Riviera present their first event of the year, the ‘Star Spangled Banner’, celebrating the food, music, and culture of the USA

An evening filled with fun and great entertainment is certainly on the cards this Saturday, 16th February, as the International Club of the Riviera welcomes in 2013 in grand style. The event, being held at Le Mackenzie (Danser la Vie) Dance School in Mougins, starts at 7pm with an introductory cocktail and finger food, affording guests the opportunity to mingle with old friends, meet new ones, and network.

The party continues with an expansive all-American buffet, with plenty of traditional favourites like meatloaf, mac and cheese, and fried chicken, topped off with cheesecake and apple pie – you won’t get more American that that! There will also be a selection of French and American wines on offer, from Bordeaux and Napa Valley in California.

Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by Dreah Pennington, accompanied by Daniel Sierra on guitar, with their own selection of jazz, blues and pop classics.

And as a special treat, the ever popular Cy Todd will also be in attendance, wooing the audience with her own interpretation of American folk songs, including the ‘Star Spangled Banner‘. Charles Laz will be on hand to provide backing on his keyboards. The American theme for the evening continues in the quiz planned for the event, and guests are encouraged to dress ‘American’ – there will be a special competition for the most ‘American‘ couple!

As with all ICR events, there will be a special raffle in aid of the theme charity, Arogya Agam, which helps children infected or affected by HIV and AIDS in India. All money raised will go directly to the charity, to buy schoolbooks and medecine for the children. Guests are encouraged to show their generosity for this most worthwhile of causes.

The closing date is Thursday, 14th February, so be sure to book your place now! Please note that this is a prepaid event, and tickets will not be on sale at the door on the night.
