Calling all Irish and honorary Irish people on the French Riviera — time to go green and get your party on this Saint Patrick’s weekend!

The PACA Irish Association has a huge number of activities planned for the Saint Patrick’s weekend this March, with four days of partying, sessions, culture, and plenty of good old-fashioned craic on offer.

Starting on Friday, 13th March, at Auditorium College Charles III in Monaco, there will be an evening entitled The Three Wilde Cards, presented by Monaco-Ireland Arts Society, and conceived and directed by Lynn Sharpe. The first part will be Oscar Wilde in relation to his mother, “Speranza”, Jane Francesca Elgee. The second part will be Oscar Wilde in relation to his wife, Constance, with a few poems, extracts from writings by Lady Wilde and Constance, and five short scenes from Oscar Wilde’s plays interwoven in the programme. Further information available by calling +33 493 41 97 22

Saturday, 14th March promises a day full of events, kicking off at 2pm with a cultural afternoon at the Reformed Church on Boulevard Victor Hugo in Nice. Lots of fun, music and dance for all the family.

There will be Six Nations rugby for all rugby fans at 3:30pm at Ma Nolan’s in Vieux Nice, with the Wales versus Ireland game from Cardiff.

Then, at 7pm, one of the Irish Association members, Mary McKeown, will give a talk about the Irish born architect and designer, Eileen Gray. Gray designed and built her villa E1027 in Roquebrune in 1926 which is still an icon of modern architecture.

On Sunday 15th March, there will be a trip to Ile St. Honorat, where Saint Patrick spent two years studying theology. Departing from Cannes at 10am. If interested please let Mary McKeown know on +33 6 23 39 88 10
