The Monaco Salon International du Livre returns to the Grimaldi Forum on 5 and 6 September 2026, celebrating its 15th edition this year.
Held under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II, this year’s book fair brings together an impressive programme of writers, academics, historians, scientists and public figures for two days dedicated to literature and ideas.
With this 15th edition, the event will once again transform the Grimaldi Forum into a meeting place for readers and authors from a wide range of disciplines. Novelists, essayists, researchers and thinkers will share their work, exchange ideas and discuss the issues shaping today’s world. A moment of collective inspiration.
Visitors can attend author talks, book signings and panel discussions, offering a unique opportunity to meet the people behind some of today’s most thought-provoking books. The programme spans fiction, history, science, current affairs and biography, creating an event that appeals to readers of all interests.
At the Salon International du Livre de Monaco, words have the power to stir emotions, tell stories of shared adventures and reflect the many journeys of life. They speak of love and loss, sometimes bringing tears, but also offering strength, hope and inspiration. Through the written word, stories live on, memories endure and, in their own way, achieve a certain immortality.

Meet the Authors
With over 120 authors expected to attend the salon, visitors will be able to engage with them for two days of debates, meetings and book signings.
Over the weekend, the Grande Salle and Salle Auric I in the Grimaldi Forum will host a number of face-to-face meetings with writers of renown, including Vladimir Fedorovski, Etienne Klein, Daniel Lauclair, Dr Pierre-Alexis Geoffroy, Louis-Henri de la Rochefoucauld, David Milliat, and Patrice Ponza.
From the Sporting Arena to the Written Page
The Salon is introducing a new addition to its programme this year with the launch of the Prix du Livre Sportif (Sports Book Prize), celebrating writing inspired by the world of sport.
From personal achievement and determination to rivalry, triumph and adversity, sport has long provided compelling material for writers. The new award will recognise books that explore these stories and the people behind them, highlighting the close relationship between sporting performance and literature.
The prize is particularly fitting for Monaco, a Principality with strong sporting traditions and an international reputation for hosting major events, from Formula 1 and tennis to athletics, football and sailing.

A selection of nominated works will be considered by a jury bringing together recognised figures from the worlds of sport and culture.
The jury will be chaired by Orianne Aymard, who will take part live from her base camp in the Himalayas. The winning title will be announced during a special ceremony hosted by French sports journalist and television presenter Daniel Lauclair, with the award presented by a prominent figure from the sporting world.
The new Prix du Livre Sportif adds another dimension to the Monaco International Book Fair, recognising authors who capture the ambition, emotion, challenges and human stories that make sport such a rich subject for literature.

More than simply a book fair, the event encourages conversation, discovery and the exchange of ideas. It is a place where literature meets science, history meets the future, and every discussion has the potential to inspire new perspectives.
With a prestigious line-up of guests and a varied programme, the 2026 Monaco Salon International du Livre promises another memorable weekend celebrating books, culture and the enduring power of the written word. Happy 15th birthday!
