A special presentation to the public takes place this Saturday, 11th January in the Museo Bicknell of the renovated 1891 theatre screen by Giuseppe Piana.

Daniela Gandolfi, director of the Instituto Internazionale di Studi Liguri and the Museo Bicknell in Bordighera, Italy, has announced the presentation to the public on Saturday 11th January 2020 at 4pm in the Museo Bicknell of the renovated 1891 theatre screen by Giuseppe Piana.

The restoration, paid for by American donors through the Clarence Bicknell Association, has been completed by the Laboratorio Bonifacio in Bussana, near Sanremo in northwest Italy.

This is another exciting moment in centenary of Clarence’s death in 1918… we have been celebrating all through 2018, 2019 and now into 2020. He’s worth it. This screen was a favourite item of Clarence’s; he acted in plays in front of it, on the stage of the Museo Bicknell, and was keen to be photographed in front of it.

The restorer Riccardo Bonifacio of Laboratorio Bonifacio in Bussana, Province of Imperia, Italy and the construction manager Dott. Alfonso Sista representing the Ligurian Superintendency of the Italian Ministry, which authorized the restoration, will be present. Daniela Gandolfi and her guest Marcus Bicknell (Chairman of the Clarence Bicknell Association and Clarence Bicknell’s great grand nephew) will also be there.

The event takes place at 4pm on Saturday 11th January 2020 in the Museo Bicknell. Admission is free.
