The summer of jazz just keeps on giving! This July and August check out Jazz Art Lympia in the Port of Nice, boasting a humdinger of a lineup.

The seventh edition of Jazz Art Lympia takes place as part of the Salvatore Dalì – Divine Créatures exhibition at Espace Lympia, transforming the rooftop terrace into a veritable open-air jazz club. The event, which started back in 2019, has 35 concerts under its belt to date.

In a cultural venue steeped in history, cradled by unique sunsets over the Port of Nice, Jazz Art Lympia is guaranteed to suspend time on Thursday evenings with a programme conducive to emotion and sharing.

JULY 17th – Manu Le Prince

Manu Le Prince brings together the finest musicians from the Côte d’Azur: pianist Robert Persi, double bassist Philippe Brassoud, and drummer Jean-Luc Dana, in a high-flying Brazilian jazz quartet for festive and danceable music.

JULY 24th – JazzAccords Quartet

A quartet bringing together musicians from diverse backgrounds, renowned in the jazz world for their personalities and their performances alongside internationally renowned artists. The quartet is made up of Jean-Louis Bouyssou – guitarist, André Guiglion – drummer, Patrick Barbato – double bass, and Charly Laz – pianist.

JULY 31st – Arnoise Jazz Project

The Arnoïse Jazz Project, in its Power Trio version, offers original jazz funk fusion compositions and surprising and explosive revisited covers filled with improvisations: Chick Corea, Herbie Hankock, Hendrix, Coltrane, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, amongst others. These three uncompromising and uninhibited musicians are from the Nice region: Arnoïse – Drums, Frederic D’Oelsnitz – Piano, and Lasha Lucaselias – Bass.

AUGUST 7th – PounkIPA Jazz Quartet

PounkIPA Jazz Quartet performs jazz standards and jazzified pop rock. The group has been around for several years, with extensive stage experience from numerous concerts. and is made up of Nastasia Fidanza – Vocals, Andréas Schedl – Piano, Alexandre Davin – Drums, and Gilles Baud – Double Bass.

AUGUST 14th – Leila MacAvoy Quartet

Somewhere between Billie Holiday and Anita O’Day, Leila MacAvoy’s suave voice takes us through a repertoire steeped in jazz, blues, and soul. From Stevie Wonder to Nina Simone, this quartet revisits—and rejuvenates—the most beautiful standards of the American Songbook. The quartet includes: Leila MacAvoy – vocals, Pierre Bertrand – guitar and arrangements, Félix Joveniaux – drums, and Nicolas Luchi – double bass.

AUGUST 21st – Glam’ Jazz

Glam’ Jazz offers us a melodic and accessible jazz that revisits the great standards that have marked the history of jazz since its beginnings. The quartet is made up of: Sandrine Destefanis – vocals, Thierry Faure – piano, Fabrice Bistoni – double bass, Didier Guazzo – drums, percussion.

AUGUST 28th – Ronnie Rae Project

An evening featuring one of the best pianists working in the region, and a living example of “jazz attitude”. Ronnie will be accompanied (as always) by his friends – on bass Nico Gomez (Bjorg-Lisa Steinfield) and Stu Richie on drums.

Concerts start at 20h00 each night on the roof terrace of the Espace Culturel Départemental Lympia. Doors open at 19h00. Admission is free and seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
