No Finish Line 2013 Continues to Help Disadvantaged Youth

The annual No Finish Line charity event returns to the Principality this November, raising funds for local Monégasque charities.

Since its creation in 1999 by the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Monaco, the No Finish Line charity has raised over €1.33 million for local charities, the main benefactor being the Children & Future charity. The event is run under the high patronage of S.A.S. Sovereign Prince Albert II.

The idea for the event is simple – for each kilometer walked or run, €1 is donated to the fund. The course, which is approximately 1.37km long, follows the embankments of Port Hercule.

Last year, over €275,000 was raised, with 8,400 individuals participating and 29 teams involved. The organisers are hoping to raise in excess of €300,000 this year.

To participate in this year’s event, all you need to do is download and complete the entry form from the No Finish Line website and send it with your entry fee to the organisers. You may enter as an individual or as part of a team.

Entry costs €16 for those aged 10 and under (€6 entry and €10 for the chip) and €22 for adults (€12 entry and €10 for the chip). If you wish to participate over all eight days, that will cost €130 (€120 entry and €10 for the chip), and you are also entitled to an evening meal if you are amongst the first 40 entries.

The 2013 event, which is being run in conjunction with the Peace and Sport association, will be benefitting five different charities: the Centre Cardio Thoracique de Monaco, to aid with their charitable medical work; helping host families who take in disadvantaged children; financing a house in Dakar in Sénégal that will be of benefit to disadvantaged youth and youth projects in Madagascar; the creation of a project in Monaco to help handicapped children, and, in conjunction with Fight AIDS Monaco, providing assistance to the maison de vie in Carpentras for youth affected by the disease.

There will be an impressive array of sporting champions and greats on hand each day, each a Champion for Peace. They will be also participating in the event, and you will get a chance to meet them after their efforts. Look out for the great Wilson Kipketer, champion pole-vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva, English rugby star Dan Luger, and Belgian cyclist, Philippe Gilbert, among others.

No Finish Line 2013 runs from 2pm on Saturday, 16th November until 2pm on Sunday, 24th November, 2013.
