From December 28th to 30th, 2025, the sparkling waters of the Baie des Anges will become the stage for a historic gathering of sailing excellence.

The 68ème Régate internationale de Star de Nice (Nice STAR International Regatta), the most prestigious winter event of the STAR Series, returns to its iconic Riviera home, drawing world-class sailors to its challenging and beautiful arena.

This “Historic Event” in the STAR Series calendar is a must for top crews during the winter season. The allure is undeniable: the promise of perfect sailing conditions in the sheltered bay, the famed hospitality of the Club Nautique de Nice and its volunteers, and the unique camaraderie of the international Star Class community. This year, sailors from Australia, Germany, France, Italy, and Switzerland have already confirmed their participation.

A True Test of Skill in an Iconic Boat

At the heart of the regatta is the Star boat itself: a 6.9-metre two-person keelboat renowned as one of the most demanding and prestigious classes in competitive sailing. Once the premier Olympic class until its farewell at London 2012, the Star continues to attract the best professionals and dedicated amateurs, ensuring that every major event is a “Who’s Who” of the sailing world.

Adding to the excitement this year is the return of a sailing legend: Diego Negri, the two-time Star World Champion, whose presence guarantees a fiercely competitive field.

Chasing the Morning Breeze

Organizers have scheduled two races per day, each morning starting promptly at 8:45 am. This early schedule is strategic, allowing competitors to take full advantage of the ideal conditions the Côte d’Azur offers at dawn: calm seas and predictable offshore winds blowing from the surrounding mountains.

The daily itinerary is as follows:

  • Sunday, December 28th: Press briefing at sea at 8:00 am, followed by two races until approximately 12:00 pm.
  • Monday, December 29th: Press briefing at sea at 8:00 am, followed by two races until approximately 12:00 pm.
  • Tuesday, December 30th: The final two races begin at 8:45 am, culminating in the awards ceremony at 2:00 pm to crown the 2025 champions and the presentation of the Trophée Jacques Puisségur.
Régate internationale de Star de Nice

Organized by the Club Nautique de Nice and France Starclass, under the authority of the French Sailing Federation, the regatta is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of nautical tradition, tactical mastery, and the timeless appeal of one of sailing’s greatest classes.

On-Shore Entertainment

The sailing action is only part of the regatta, so prepare yourself for an electrifying gala evening, featuring the band Cabine 13, who will be bringing the docks to life. With powerful riffs, captivating rhythms, and infectious energy, you are guaranteed an unforgettable concert and a memorable night! Whether you’re a sailor, a sailing enthusiast, or simply a live music lover, don’t miss this highlight of the regatta!
