A fixture of Monaco life since 1863, the Casino de Monte-Carlo continues to prove that tradition and reinvention can go hand in hand.

In 2026, the iconic venue is refreshing its Atrium with a playful new concept, alongside an updated experience at Café Rotonde. At the heart of it all is a bold tribute to Monopoly – complete with immersive décor and the introduction of themed slot machines, unveiled during a recent special launch event.

Visitors are greeted by a striking installation: an oversized game board scattered with tokens, houses, and hotels, while banknotes appear to cascade from above. Towering over the scene is a three-metre-tall Mr. Monopoly, presiding over the Atrium until 17 May 2026. The display invites guests to step directly into the world of the classic game.

The experience extends beyond the décor. Following the release of the exclusive Monopoly Monte-Carlo edition created with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, players can now try their hand at Monopoly Big Board Bucks slot machines by Aristocrat Gaming. Eight new machines have been introduced, with four installed at the Casino Café de Paris.

There’s more at stake than just the thrill of the spin. Members of the MyMonteCarlo programme can compete for over 8,000 prizes, with a total value of €100,000, while a social media activation – “Mr Monopoly’s Riddle” on Instagram – adds another layer of engagement, offering exclusive rewards to a handful of winners.

Meanwhile, Café Rotonde is carving out a renewed identity of its own. Now open daily from 10 am to 8 pm, the space blends vintage charm with indulgence, featuring décor inspired by 1930s slot machines. Its menu has expanded to include refined pastries that draw directly from the gaming world.

Among the standout creations are Le Smoking, a rich pairing of 72% dark chocolate cream and choux pastry; Le Dé de la Chance, built around a Piedmont hazelnut centre with delicate praline notes; and La Carte à Jouer, combining caramelised puff pastry with tonka bean Chantilly and local raspberry. These are complemented by a carefully curated drinks list, from elegant champagne-based mixes to more playful signature cocktails.

More than a gaming destination, the Casino de Monte-Carlo continues to embody a certain way of life – where spectacle, craftsmanship, and experience are woven together. After more than 160 years, it shows no signs of standing still.
