An exhibition of paintings at the Princess Grace Irish Library showcases the captivating art of Mark Armstrong and the beauty of Monaco

Mark Armstrong has sold many of his lovely paintings since his showing opened at the end of March at the Princess Grace Irish Library on Le Rocher in Monaco. His paintings of the Principality have captivated many people. You have until the 4th of October to go and see his work and if you are hoping to purchase one of his awesome pieces, then it is strongly suggested that you get along there post haste!

Mark Armstrong is a long-term resident of Monaco, having lived in the Principality for over 40 years. Anyone who has passed by Sotheby’s Monte-Carlo office, where he has been the mainstay, may well have met this very engaging person.

Mark took up painting as an interest which then became a passion. He decided to do something very different, use his art as philanthropy. So, he has generously donated all 40 of his paintings to the Foundation Princess Grace, with all the proceeds targeted at supporting the work of the Foundation. It is particularly fitting as this year celebrates what would have been 70 years of marriage between Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III, often thought of as the wedding of the century. It is marvellous that the 40 landscapes of Monaco painted by Mark retrace the steps of Princess Grace at this time.

As a trustee of the Princess Grace Irish Library for over 20 years, he also acts as Treasurer of The Ireland Funds Monaco, This is one of the chapters of a global philanthropic network created in the seventies, aimed at promoting and supporting the development of peace, culture, education and community in Ireland, together with Irish-linked activities worldwide.
