Start Off 2026 on the Right Foot with the Prom’Classic in Nice

The start line for the Prom'Classic 10km race in Nice, France

The 26th edition of the Prom’Classic, organised by Azur Sport Organisation, returns to Nice on Sunday, 4th January, 2026 – a great way to kick-start the New Year after the excesses of the festive period.

The race is open to participants aged 16 and older (born in 2010 or earlier), promising another unforgettable edition this January.

Run over a 10km course along the iconic Promenade des Anglais in Nice, the relatively flat profile will prove attractive to many runners. But the setting is equally as enticing – what better way to cover 10km than with the Mediterranean at your side?

The official start time for the Prom’Classic is 9:00am, with staggered starts in place up until 9:50am. There will be five pacesetters present at the start line to help you achieve your desired time: a pacesetter for 40 minutes, 45 minutes, 50 minutes, 55 minutes and one hour, recognisable by the big flag they will be carrying with each time emblazoned on it.

The organisers will be capping entries at 15,000 for this edition of the Prom’Classic. Registration opens on Tuesday, 7th October, 2025 at 11am. You will need to act fast as the places will fill up very quickly. The race also serves as a qualifying event for the 2026 French Championships and the official rules are available on the event website.

The record for the men’s race is held by France’s Azeddine Habz, with a time of 27’44”, set last year. Frenchwoman Sarah Madeleine holds the women’s record with a time of 31’15”, also recorded in 2025.

The organisers will be donating €1 from each registration to their charity partner, the Banque Alimentaire des Alpes-Maritimes.

The Expo Village for the event will be located in the Théâtre de Verdure, adjacent to the course. Participants will be able to collect their bibs here, leave their gear and possessions for safe keeping during the race and also indulge in some pre-race retail therapy, with many of the big brand names in running in attendance.
