Celebrating the Contemporary at Franchement Art 2013

The Citadel in Villefranche sur Mer transforms into a giant open air gallery this September with the return of Franchement Art to the town.

Having witnessed the success of previous editions, NICEEXPO, the organisers of Franchement Art, in conjunction with the town of Villefranche-sur-Mer, have decided to turn the 4th edition of this event into a veritable festival of contemporary art.

With more than 60 professional artists and galleries exhibiting their works this year, the event is bound to attract art lovers from near and far to the seaside town. There will be something for everyone and all tastes will be catered for with painters, sculptors, photographers, and artistes plasticiens all in attendance.

There will also be an ‘Off‘ festival, being run in a variety of outdoor locations throughout Villefranche, bringing the world of contemporary art to the general public.

The ‘Off’ event runs from Sunday 1st to Sunday, 22nd September, and will feature two specially commissioned works by Spanish artists Olivia and Joaquín Jara, in celebration of Jean Cocteau.

The 2013 edition of Franchement Art runs from Friday 6th to Monday, 9th September in the grounds of the Citadel in Villefranche. Doors open at 11am each day, and admission is free.
