Europe’s dream team FC Barcelona will be making the trip to the Stade Allianz Riviera to face OGC Nice in a friendly this coming August.
Saturday, 2nd August will be a day that will go down in the footballing annals of OGC Nice, and will be long remembered by their fans. This will be the day that FC Barcelona appear in a pre-season friendly in Nice, giving the local fans a taste of top flight European football from some of the finest exponents in the game.
This will be the first time that FC Barcelona and OGC Nice have met since their encounter in the 1973-’74 UEFA Cup. Victory was Nice’s that day, with a 3-0 thrashing of their visitors at the Stade du Ray, and they progressed to the second round despìte a 2-0 defeat in the return leg at the Camp Nou.
OGC Nice played their first game at their new stadium, the Allianz Riviera, one of the most ecological venues in the world, on September 23, 2013.
Tickets for the game between FC Barcelona and OGC Nice are now available and cost from €25 to €85. They can be purchased online from the Allianz Riviera website, from Carrefour stores, and all the other usual outlets.
OGC Nice is Barça’s second confirmed opponent for the forthcoming preseason after it was announced in May that the first team will play a friendly against HJK Helsinki on 9th August.
