Nancy Heslin is a breath of Canadian fresh air that has made her home in Monaco. Having arrived here with her suitcase looking for a new life in the south of France, she has blossomed into a wonderful journalistic talent.

Nancy’s talent for writing is truly excellent and engaging. She is also a great presenter, her podcasts and radio show “What’s New in Monaco” on Riviera Radio 106.5, prove that point.

The podcast that Nancy and her husband, PJ, created just over two years ago has achieved an awesome 100,000 downloads of its 60+ episodes. That is no small achievement from a standing start in this medium. The podcasts tackle many thorny, but entertaining, differences between partners on their side of their love story. It makes for perfect listening, relaxing and thought provoking.

Nancy together with film producer Lacey Da Costa (pictured above) have started Carob Tree Publishing. This is a unique publishing house and is the only women-only publisher in Monaco. Their first publication is 100 Years of Women: Motorsport & Monaco which has been very well received. The aim of the publishing house is to promote women and offer them a voice.

Being a very athletic person, Nancy has involved herself with the Monaco rowing club. She has achieved championship level in Europe. This is a perfect example that demonstrates her commitment and drive. What she likes about the rowing club is that it isn’t targeted at those who wish to be seen, rather those that want to participate and achieve.

Nancy’s latest interviews with some fascinating, and sometimes not that well known, figures in Monaco bring out the depth, richness and diversity of the people who have made it their home. This is the ‘other’ Monaco, made up of real people with many stories to tell, from all backgrounds and nationalities. It is really a community which Nancy brings together. She communicates in her own exceptional, thoughtful and relatable style.
