The second edition of the Salon du Chocolat returns to Cannes this November, a veritable feast for the senses set to beat all records!

The Palais des Festivals in Cannes welcomes the 2013 Salon du Chocolat, which runs from Saturday 23rd to Monday, 25th November. After the success of the first edition last year which saw a staggering 18,000 plus visitors descend on the event, this year’s showcase promises to be something special.

The Salon has already established quite a reputation both nationally and globally, with shows being held in Paris, Marseille, Bordeaux, and Lille, but also in Zurich, New York, Shanghai, and Tokyo

There are plenty of interesting events on throughout the three day show to appeal to all tastes, with master chocolatiers from France and abroad on hand to show off their skills and specialiites in the art of chocolate.

Sweet times in Cannes with Salon du Chocolat 2013

Look out for the ‘Cacao Show’, where you can discover and learn about the cultures and rhythms of the cocoa bean producing territories, through music and dance, ‘Choco Demo’, an hourly show featuring many top chefs and pâtissiers sharing their passion for all things chocolate, and ‘Choco Sphere‘, featuring Lauranie Nonotte and Victoire Finaz, as they invite you to delve into the world of chocolate in ways that you may never have thought of!

There are also a number of ateliers being run each of the days, dealing with different aspects of cooking with chocolate. The workshops are being run by the Institut Gastronomie Riviera based in Seillans, and you must reserve your place in advance.

One of the highlights of the three day event will surely be the fashion show, featuring dresses designed by the top chocolatiers and designers from the region. The theme of the show this year is ‘Le Cirque Chic, le défilé Choc’. There will be a fashion show open to the public at 5pm each day, with a second show at 2:30pm on the Sunday.
