There is a rare breed of artist that has many talents. It is an even rarer breed of artist that can focus and deliver exceptional art. Jacky Ananou is one of this exceedingly rare breed.

Coupled with his love of art is also an appreciation and involvement with music, jazz being his musical interest and addiction.

It is astonishing how someone can take a humble bic pen in one colour, that colour being blue, and create a detailed and superlative piece of art that is truly breathtaking. A photograph is one thing, an illustration is another but Jacky’s art goes above and beyond taking it to another level; it is involving and mesmerising. His work is created with dedication going well past enthusiasm into passion.

This passion for his art is evident in his work ethic, every day, 2 in the afternoon until 8 in the evening. It is obvious from the results that it is painstaking, demanding a level of commitment that is outside that most artists are able to achieve. To aid his concentration Jacky listens to jazz in all its forms.

The technique that Jacky uses is unique. Very few people have the patience and the aptitude to create his superb creations. He learned this during an intensive few months from an equally rare talent in Paris and has made it his own since. Jacky draws inspiration intuitively, it is a skill that he possess which never fails to create astounding and involving imagery.
