Welcome to a beautiful September on the Côte d’Azur with a very full agenda ahead of us. Read on for our suggestions for things to do in the coming week around the region.
As summer begins its graceful retreat, the days take on a gentler rhythm. Yet its glow still lingers, carrying with it opportunities for discovery and delight.
From elegant pastimes for those who savour the familiar to sun-drenched escapes for travelers chasing something new, the area continues to offer experiences to suit every mood and inclination.
So, without further ado, here’s our taster of what’s on offer on the Côte d’Azur this week.
SATURDAY 6th SEPTEMBER
The 14th edition of the Salon International du Livre takes place this weekend in the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, bringing together authors and readers for two days of immersive exchange. Opening hours from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is free.
Cap d’Ail celebrates all things sport this afternoon with the 13th edition of its Fête du Sport, taking place from 4-7pm in Espace Marquet, Brise Marine parking lot. Come enjoy an action-packed afternoon with plenty of sporting activities on offer for all ages and abilities, thanks to the various Cap d’Ail sporting bodies. These include the Martial Arts Academy, the Cap d’Ail Mountain Biking. association, the Nashville Gang, Sunshine Yoga, Cap d’Ail Tennis Club and USCA. There are also sports challenges on throughout thea fternoon with great prizes on offer!
The Opéra de Nice has hardly had time to recover from the amazing Une Journée à l’Opéra immersive exhibition before being overrun by, of all things, heavy metal of all genres! Yes, today sees the Opéra being taken over by the Metal Up festival, starting off in the afternoon with DJs and bands to keep everyone entertained while the main event kicks off at 8pm and features none other than SepticFlesh! Rock on, Nice!
Our friends in Masséna Around the World (one of the best bookshops in Nice), are hosting Dr Helen Murray Taylor for readings and conversation about her memoir ‘love lay down beside me and we wept’, a raw, profoundly moving and masterful account of life-shattering mental illness. The event is free of charge and runs from 5-7pm. It is open to all and there is no need to reserve. Come one, come all!
The guys in Neo VogelArt Lab in Nice are hosting a medieval fantasy themed event with the Collectif Astral Nights this weekend. Featuring tarot, tattoos, crafts, and a whole lot more, the event takes place from 5-11pm today. Free entry.
Festival Crossover is back this weekend, concluding tonight at Le 109 with H Jeunecrack, 1Pliké140, Jarreau Vandal and many others taking to the stage. Tickets may still be reserved online. Enjoy the festival atmosphere with a foodcourt, pétanque, an urban market, and stand-up comedy on site. Children are also well catered for with creative workshops, games, Fablab workshops, quizzes, an introduction to electronic music…the list goes on! What a weekend!
The 6th Festival Offensive Rock takes place today at the Espaces du Fort Carré in Antibes. Organised by the Godasse Racing Team, the concert features five bands guaranteed to please all rock enthusiasts and aficionados alike. There will be food trucks, refreshments, and snacks available on site. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets cost €7 and may be purchased online.
At the crossroads of circus, theatre and dance, the Franco-Catalan company Baro d’evel brings its Qui Som?, a sensational creation and firm favorite of the 2024 Festival d’Avignon to the Anthéa Antipolis Théâtre d’Antibes. The show starts at 8:30pm and tickets may be reserved online.
SUNDAY 7th SEPTEMBER
The Salon International du Livre de Monaco concludes today, an event that has continually demonstrated the enduring vitality of books; a place where ideas circulate, conversations deepen, and literature asserts its capacity to illuminate, challenge, and endure.
Childcare Monaco is running the 12th edition of its Ladies Vintage Car Rally today. Look out for them around Monaco, where the rally starts and finishes. The theme of this year’s event is “French Riviera – Chic & Glamour.” All proceeds go to projects being run by the organisation.
The second day of the Astral Nights event in Neo Art Gallery in Nice with an introduction to tarot, a lace workshop with Enigmatic Chalismans, and a raffle. From 1 – 5pm. Free entry.
Monaco Open Air cinema concludes tonight with, quite fittingly, F1 (USA | 2025 | 2h30), starring Brad Pitt, Damson Idris and Kerry Condon. Enjoy some amazing cinematography under the evening skies of Monaco for one last time. Doors open 8:00pm, screening starts at 9:00pm. Tickets €12, €10 for students.
MONDAY 8th SEPTEMBER

TUESDAY 9th SEPTEMBER
The Cannes Yachting Festival gets underway today, running until 14th September. This is the first of the big boat shows locally bringing together professionals and lovers of the sea and all things maritime alike. Admission is by pre-purchased ticket only. Tickets and VIP tickets may be purchased online and prices start from €40 for a daily ticket. Admission is free for children under 10 years of age.
The Médiathèque de Monaco presents the Quartet Gazouil with its mini-concert entitled “VIEUX SONGS.” as part of the Picnic Music Live series. The group takes us on a musical journey between folk and blues, revisiting many of the classics we all know and love! The lunchtime concert takes place in the Vidéothèque – Sonothèque José Notari and starts at 12:15pm. Admission is free. Further information available by calling +377 93 15 29 40
WEDNESDAY 10th SEPTEMBER
The 17e Monaco Classic Week – La Belle Classe gets underway today and runs until Saturday, 13th September. Between tradition, transmission and passion, the regatta is a major event on the calendar for maritime heritage lovers, where generations, expertise and the seafaring spirit converge. There is a truly action-packed programme on offer. See you quayside!
The Foire de la Côte d’Azur takes place in MIN D’AZUR in Nice, starting today and running until the 15th September. This edition is guaranteed to be packed with discoveries, entertainment, and bargains. A truly unmissable back-to-school event, here you can find everyting you need to know about home improvements and decoration, wellness and health, and so much more! THURSDAY 11th SEPTEMBER
The Rotary Club of Fréjus is running its Trade and Craft Fair on Fréjus-Plage from 9am to 6pm today. The goal is to raise as much money as possible for the association’s charitable works. There will be nearly a hundred exhibitors present at this event – will we see you there?
Plenty of other action today on the water in Monaco and Cannes with the Monaco Classic Week and the Cannes Yachting Festival! And don’t forget the Foire de la Côte d’Azur in Nice!
FRIDAY 12th SEPTEMBER
Start off your Friday evening with the Afterwork Soul at the Médiathèque Noailles in Cannes. This promises to be an exceptional evening with the Freddie Hall Band featuring the incredible Claudio Citarella. Free admission and proceedings start at 6:30pm.
Meanwhile, in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the inaugural Les Remparts du Rire gets underway. This festival of comedy and humour runs over three nights in Place de la Courtine. Tickets and daily passes may be purchased online, starting at €24.50. Shows begin at 8:30 pm each night but the venue will be open from 6:30pm until midnight. Enjoy refreshments and snacks from the on-site vendors before or after the show.
Villenueve-Loubet hosts a Nocturne Africaine in the Salle Irène Kénin – Pôle Culturel Auguste Escoffier, featuring Mariaa Siga in concert. Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 8:30pm. Snacks will be served on site by the AKÄP association. Tickets cost €10.95 and may be purchased online. Children under 12 get in for free. Théâtre du Fort Antoine in Monaco hosts Mateo, a tango opera by Argentinian composer Martin Palmeri, directed by Carlos Branca. With a cast of seven international opera singers, two dancers, a string quintet, a pianist, two bandoneon players, and a choir, the story takes place at the beginning of the 20th century during Argentina’s industrial revolution. A moving epic where the struggle between tradition and progress highlights the sacrifices of a father and the hopes of a new generation. The rhythm of tango and the vocals of verismo opera blend to create a so-called “grostesco” opera where humor and tragedy alternate harmoniously. There are three performances starting tonight at 8:30pm, with the remaning performances taking place over the weekend. Tickets cost €30 (concessions available) and may be reserved online.
Catch Muzsikus Swing performing in Cagnes-sur-Mer tonight – From Gypsy Music to Jazz. Formed in 2011, the band interprets and revisits the most famous standards of classical jazz and Gypsy music, bringing you on a journey through the different birthplaces of jazz. Part of the 22nd « Jazz au Château » Festival at Place du Château in Cagnes-sur-Mer, the concert starts at 9pm and admission is free. Château-Musée Grimaldi and the Musée du Bijou Contemporain are both open especially for the occasion until 7pm, and there is also a free navette (the Nr 44) available from the bus station.
OTHER EVENTS & ATTRACTIONS
