Saddle Up this October with Cogs4Cancer

This October, the fantastic Cogs4Cancer will once again be hitting the high road with a gruelling 1,400km cycle from London to Antibes.

Cogs4Cancer has announced the longest route yet for their 2017 ride, starting from the London headquarters of Cancer Research UK and ending in Mediterranean yachting hub Antibes. The new route promises to be the most beautiful and toughest itinerary to date.

This years peloton comprises of a mixture of superyacht captains, senior crew and industry professionals who will start in London, heading across the channel to Caen in northern France and then travelling south via Condeau, Cheverney, St Amend Montrond, Vichy, Le Puy, Vallon Pont D’Arc, Malaucene, Riez before finishing up in Antibes just ten days later.

All 36 riders needed for the 2017 challenge are confirmed, and the charity asks that any yachting businesses that are interested in supporting this worthwhile cause to email them to discuss how they would like to participate.

Cogs4Cancer is managed by a group of volunteers who all work within the superyacht industry. 100% of all money raised goes to the designated cancer charities across Europe and the UK, and the volunteers not only put in countless hours planning, preparing and promoting, but also pay for all their own travel and equipment needed to make the cycle rides happen.

Cogs4Cancer has been going since 2013 and has raised over €700,000 for both Cancer Research UK and local French cancer charities. They plan to hit their fundraising goal of €1,000,000 this year. To help them achieve this, please donate via their JustGiving page.

The charity has benefited from a number of celebrity endorsements since the first endurance cycling challenge four years ago, including Rihanna, Sylvester Stallone, and Roman Abramovitch. They even had a fighter pilot recently show his support, with a selfie taken at over 30,000 feet above sea level!
