Come experience the genius of Salvador Dalí i Domenech with a new exhibition at La Malmaison in Cannes this summer.

One of the world’s best known and possibly least understood artists, Salvador Dalí, is the focus of an exhibition that has just opened in La Malmaison in Cannes. Entitled Salvador Dalí ou l’ivresse des rêves, the exhibition features no less than 200 original prints from the Jean Ferrero collection.

This event is a real treat for art lovers and members of the public alike, as the last exhibition in France to feature the works of Dalí took place in 2012 at the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

The œuvres that make up this exhibition are extremely rare, and the illustrated books on display are considered amongst the most beautiful created by Dalí between 1960 and 1978. Le Bestiaire de la Fontaine Dalinisé, published in 1974, is such an example, consisting of 12 drypoints with pochoir in colours, each signed in pencil and numbered.

There are many prints certified as ‘bon à tirer’ in this exceptional collection, enhanced by Dalí. The works almost assume the mantle of a retrospective, with their well thought-out chronological presentation.

The exhibition Salvador Dalí ou l’ivresse des rêves, featuring works on paper, drawings and watercolours, and oil paintings from French private collections, is underway at La Malmaison in Cannes, running until 30th October, 2016. Admission is €6.

Another exhibition dedicated to Dalí – Dalí de Cadaqués – takes place at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes, running from the 15th July to 25th August, 2016. This exhibition features the works of French photographer Robert Discharges.
