Celebrating Australia Day 2014 on the French Riviera

Come celebrate Australia Day with the International Club of the Riviera, a truly global event for this most special of Antipodean occasions!

The International Club of the Riviera has every intention of starting off the New Year with a bang, as they invite you to celebrate Australia Day 2014 with them.

A superb evening is lined up with plenty of Australian food, wine, music, and entertainment on Saturday the 25th of January, starting at 7.30pm at a great café-theatre style venue in Mougins.

The evening starts with a special Australia Day cocktail, affording guests the opportunity to mingle and socialise, meeting new friends and networking. This will be followed by an Australia Day buffet dinner with all the traditional trimmings, accompanied by a superb selection of Australian wines, expertly chosen for the occasion by New World wine specialist, Bradley Mitton.

It will be an evening full of action and typical Down Under humour, the highlight being a sing along session of traditional Aussie folk songs led by a ‘mystery’ true blue Aussie, an all Australian Quiz, and a competition for the most imaginative ‘Aussie Look’ couple! It will be a fun evening for all, so be sure to bring the family along!

Our friends from the Riviera Polo Club will also be in attendance, with a special presentation by Alexia Pike on what the club has to offer the polo enthusiast, and their plans to put the sport well and truly on the map on the French Riviera! We also hear that there may be some exciting news involving the ICR and the Sport of Kings!

Musical entertainment for the evening will be provided by the most popular DJ on the Riviera (well, that’s what it says on his business card anyway!), the one and only Mr. Mark Dezzani. There will also be a special ‘Aussie Day Dance Session’ as a grande finale to this great evening!

As with all ICR events, there will also be a raffle during the event with great prizes on offer, and all the proceeds will go to the theme charity of the International Club of the Riviera for children affected or infected with HIV/AIDS.

Tickets cost €28 for members of the International Club of the Riviera and the Riviera Business Club and their guests, and €33 for all others, and may be reserved on the ICR website. The event is prepaid and there will not be any sale of tickets at the door on the day.
