Les Plages Électroniques Coming Back to Cannes

The beaches of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes are about to be overrun again this July as Les Plages Électroniques make its welcome return.

Every Wednesday night (almost) throughout the month of July, Les Plages Électroniques will be belting out the sounds and beats of some of the best known local and global electronic artists, making Cannes the place to be for afficionados of deep house, dubstep, techno, and every other variety of electro music.

The festival kicks off on Wednesday, 3rd July with Vitalic, presenting his live VTLZR, backed by a band. Also on the bill for this very French night are Lyon’s Spitzer Live, AntiClimax from Marseille, and Nice’s own techno duo, Johnson de Christensen.

Week 2 on Wednesday, 10th July welcomes a great lineup of acts, including Damian Lazarus from London, Toronto’s Art Department, Wankelmut from Berlin, and local boy Johny Be from Cannes. There will also be a video presentation by Wafolyv from Cannes, keeping local interest piqued.

The third week of the festival on Wednesday, 17th July, sees Pendulum feating MC Verse, Gramatik, Son of Kick featuring Marger, and My E.T. from Nice, take to the stage. No Key Frame, also from Nice, will also be providing video entertainment for the evening.

The last Wednesday in July sees an all female line-up, with appearances from Berlin’s Magda, Parisiennes Miss Kitten live and Chloé, and Nastia from Kiev. Video entertainment for this session will be provided by Fajune, the VJ from Lyon.

The final night of Les Plages Électroniques 2013 takes place on Wednesday 14th August. The artists on the bill for this closing night, la soirée Electropicale, include Major Lazer, Dillon Francis, The G.E.E.K., and Dad Crew. VJs for the night are DMX.

All gigs take place on the Plage du Palais des Festivals in Cannes. Doors open each night at 7pm and shows finish at 12:30am. Tickets are available online and cost €15 per night. A festival pass is also available for €52. There are also After parties taking place each night at Club le 7 and Club le Sun7.
